I am curious if anyone has had any luck at any carrier, Best Buy, Apple Store in walking in and purchasing a 7+. I received my 7 from Apple on launch day, but my 7+ is stuck in the October 4-10th delivery window. I was wonder if any stores are holding some devices for walk-ins. It seems Apple has limited this from happening in recent releases, but I would like to hear from some experiences.

I just got back from the Apple Store in Fort Worth. I've been looking for a Plus on their reserve site and virtually NO store in DFW area has any plusses ever. The girl waiting outside the store said they only had one day they got any plusses in and they went VERY fast. Needless to say I will not give up my search because I can barely wait while my Plus is in the Oct 10th-14th period.
Pretty easy to get a Plus thru the upgrade program at most NYC stores.
I try to reserve a 7+ for in-store pickup when I wake up every morning, but they never have the color I want (black) in 256GB. Or sometimes they have other providers but not AT&T.
So far every morning has been a fail. I figure I'll eventually finally get my phone, but for now, nope.

EXACTLY!!! It seems like every store seems to get Verizon and Sprint phones but virtually nothing for AT&T
I walked in to an Apple Store on Sunday, 45 minutes before they closed, and asked if they had any iPhone Plus black. They said yes and I bought one.
My apple store this am is showing a 128gb 7+ rose gold phone available but I want jb so I'm not interested in it.
Just walked out with a Black 7+ today from Atlanta Northpoint Mall Apple Store. Perimeter had them today too. All Atlanta area stores have had various colors everyday but today seemed to be when the black versions came in. I missed out on a few today and was finally able to snag what I wanted.
I had some time today so I went to the Pasadena, CA Apple Store to see if they had any 7+'s in Black. I knew they weren't showing up on the iStock site, but I've also gotten tired of reading people "just walked in and got exactly what I wanted". There was one line to reserve and one line to pick up reservations. I asked someone inside if they could tell me anything about stock on hand before I got in the big line. She told me "Oh we wouldn't make you wait in that long line if we didn't have it."
So I got in the big ass line, waited 50 minutes. When it was my turn at the front I said "7+ Verizon in Black?"
"Oh we don't have those."
"7+ Verizon in any color?"
"Sorry, we don't have those."
"7+ ATT in Black (as I understand you can just switch the SIM cards)?"
"I have 1 32G in Rose Gold"
"Nevermind."
I felt my blood pressure rise to dangerous levels and understood why people just flip out in public and lose their sh*t and end up going viral.
On top of this... The line wouldn't take nearly an hour if they didn't have ONE person out there processing people and answering every single questions from people who walked up from the sidewalk. I can't tell you how many times I saw him stop what he was doing and patiently answer the same question over and over, often from the same people.
"What's this Line for?"
"Really?"
"This is the line to buy the phone?"
"So this line is for people who don't have the phone yet?"
Meanwhile there are at least 8 people inside the door in blue shirts waiting around to answer questions.
Please get it together Apple.

Check local targets. One of the Target stores near me had two matte + 128's and one silver + 256. I had called them last week to see what they had. They had one 7 matte 128 but I wanted a Plus. The phone services manager said he will call me when more Pluses come in. He even said he'd check other stores inventory for me. Such a nice guy. He called me today to tell me they had a matte +128 he'd hold if I wanted it. I told him I just went to backorder today with my ATT order, but thank you for the great service. Anyway, Target stores are getting more and more inventory on the Pluses.

Ive been checking the Apple website all day. Saw one 128g (black) AT&T show up in a nearby store. By the time I entered my info it was gone. I have checked the last couple nights at 12:01 and I never see any stock. Ive been told its 8am that you should check?! Who knows...
The girl at the Apple Store told me to check at 12:01 but even then there's virtually nothing. I keep checking all day and it seems like random stores will update their stocks based on shipments for the day?
I've seen a bunch of 7 Plus here in NYC pop up. Also in Long Island. I could easily get any color and could have even around lunch time today. Except...jet black. Lol. Curious to see if anyone has gotten one thru reservations yet, or seen one pop up
