I have one on order I have enough to buy one outright but apple won't let me order one with the order I did online in place. can you reserve one with a pending order?

Sunday I reserved in the morning using the IUP link. Walked out within a hour of reservation time.

EXACTLY!!! It seems like every store seems to get Verizon and Sprint phones but virtually nothing for AT&T

Are you buying it outright, or on a plan for ATT? If outright, I'd buy the Verizon or Sprint over the ATT one. Just pop in an ATT sim and you're good to go.

I couldn't find a matte black 7+ in either 128 or 256G anywhere - Apple, AT&T, or Best Buy.

Thanks to another thread here, I checked the local Target today - they had stock. I walked in and out with my black 128G and a rose gold 7+ for the wife.

Made a reservation at the Apple Store last Sunday and picked it up four hours later - MB 164 plus. I noticed that the reservation page did not bring up California locations when I checked at 6AM. But at 8AM all inventories were updated and I grabbed mine at 0801.. I suggest checking local stock at that time each day.

I had some time today so I went to the Pasadena, CA Apple Store to see if they had any 7+'s in Black. I knew they weren't showing up on the iStock site, but I've also gotten tired of reading people "just walked in and got exactly what I wanted". There was one line to reserve and one line to pick up reservations. I asked someone inside if they could tell me anything about stock on hand before I got in the big line. She told me "Oh we wouldn't make you wait in that long line if we didn't have it."
So I got in the big ass line, waited 50 minutes. When it was my turn at the front I said "7+ Verizon in Black?"
"Oh we don't have those."
"7+ Verizon in any color?"
"Sorry, we don't have those."
"7+ ATT in Black (as I understand you can just switch the SIM cards)?"
"I have 1 32G in Rose Gold"
"Nevermind."

I felt my blood pressure rise to dangerous levels and understood why people just flip out in public and lose their sh*t and end up going viral.
On top of this... The line wouldn't take nearly an hour if they didn't have ONE person out there processing people and answering every single questions from people who walked up from the sidewalk. I can't tell you how many times I saw him stop what he was doing and patiently answer the same question over and over, often from the same people.
"What's this Line for?"
"Really?"
"This is the line to buy the phone?"
"So this line is for people who don't have the phone yet?"

Meanwhile there are at least 8 people inside the door in blue shirts waiting around to answer questions.

Please get it together Apple.

You should have given them feedback

Be like, you guys should have one person monitoring the front of the line and also fielding Qs <-although this I really blame the dum dums because seriously, in his shoes, what can you do?

And another person going down the line, helping folks make reservation so that they know the model they're waiting for is actually available and you wouldn't need to wait in line for that long.

And I'm guessing that guy was suppose to go down the line or something but got sidetracked along the way?

If you have ordered one on the att payment plan and are waiting can you reserve one if it is available?

I was debating so I preordered on the day it came it out and received a call two days after. LOL

I never worry buying the iPhone, I always buy the highest capacity. Even Best Buy where I picked my 256GB Rose Gold Plus tells me it's the easiest to get.

Makes me so mad. Why waste the resources when you have silver and gold already.
They should have replace gold or rose gold with a glossy midnight blue.

why is the upgrade program faster at getting the 7 pluses rather then buying at full price?

1) Most people don't buy their phones outright
2) More scalpers probably buy outright
3) Apple screwed up on launch morning and sent upgrade people thru the wrong queue on the site and has been trying to make it right.

Website says check back AFTER 12:01 and it normally updates at 12:02:30 or so.

It updates Eastern States at 12:02 Eastern, Central States at 12:02 Central, etc.

Check back at 12:02 local time.

I've seen MB 7+s in the Houston area each of the last 3 nights but they all sell out 5 minutes or less from inventory going live at 12:02.

I've yet to see one 7+ JB available for IUP. I imagine that we won't see these for pickup until at least October...

I'm unconvinced about 12:01 AM being the time to wait for.

I checked for a 128GB MB AT&T 7 Plus on Monday night just after midnight. Hemmed and hawed a bit (I had one on order from AT&T for 10/14-21 shipment), and by 12:30 it was gone.

Tuesday I decided that if I could reserve one at a local Apple store, I would go for it. I checked every couple of hours through the day for my model, but no local stores (and there are twelve within driving distance of me) had my model.

Just for fun, I checked the Apple app around 10:30 PM Tuesday night - and my model was in stock for "Pickup tomorrow." I didn't procrastinate this time.

Since I was ordering using AT&T Next, I first cancelled my AT&T order to get my Next eligibility back. Fortunately, AT&T reset my eligibility within seconds. I then ordered from Apple for Wednesday pickup. Yesterday I went in and picked up my new iPhone!

Because I had an iPhone 6 Plus, I am doing the $650 rebate deal. Today I went in to my local AT&T corporate store, and turned in my iPhone 6 Plus. That went very smoothly - no problem at all that I had made the purchase from Apple. All they cared about was that I had financed through Next and that my 6 Plus worked and was in good condition. The whole process at the AT&T store only took about 10 minutes - and that included a pitch for Direct TV.
