No way I'm spending $999 (or more), for the X. That's just way too much for so little improvements! It's insane that people are willing to spend that much money for a freaking phone.
And why is it called the X (ten)? What happened to 9?
You mean you don't trust Macworld/iMore/The Verge's reviews with the same glowing praise each year?I want to see consumers' review before anything.
Count me in. 7plus here upgrading to 8 plus. I'll wait next year for the Xs or whatever.
Lol. I like to see the actual reviews from real customers. Not 4k enhanced editing reviews hahahaYou mean you don't trust Macworld/iMore/The Verge's reviews with the same glowing praise each year?
I actually enjoy The Verge reviews as casual reading, but not for serious considerations. I like reading user thoughts on reddit.Lol. I like to see the actual reviews from real customers. Not 4k enhanced editing reviews hahaha
I agree with you. There's nothing with verge or macworld or ...MobileTechReview (definitely her), I do a lot of video recordings and sometimes it's hard to get an actual perspective from big reviewers. For example: 9to5mac or etc, they did a review on iphone 7 plus and video recording. But what they didn't mention was the hissing noise. I found out through hissing noise from actual consumers via youtube videos. When I bought ip7 plus, it was making that hissing noise while recording. So..it's hard to get a better perspective other than actual customers.I actually enjoy The Verge reviews as casual reading, but not for serious considerations. I like reading user thoughts on reddit.
Anda Tech's massive 28+ page reviews are awesome if you like to "geek out," I'm still waiting for the 10.5" iPad Pro one.
Other sites like iMore I don't care for. More and more they churn out filler (How to Take Pictures with you iPhone - open the camera app!!). And most of these sites just drink too much coolaid - if you will. I read these only if I want to feel good after a purchase because I know they'll rehash the keynote and tell me my device is the most amazing thing yet.

here's an example. I recorded the hissing from ip7 and shared it with MR members.
Yup. This is why Consumers' review have more credibility. Not saying that big reviwers don't. I'm just saying customers gives us a better understanding.I remember that. Another example was the iPad Air 2's weird screen distortion if you pressed on the back in a specific place. I had a model so bad that you make that happen just by walking. An example here.
You're just being rational. That's good.Definitely upgrading my Black 7+ to a Silver 8+ as all I was wanting was a Jet Black styled white iPhone, so here I am waiting and anticipating for the new 8. I haven't had a white iPhone since the 4s, so I am very excited to see what it looks like. Also, it almost seemed to be a waste if I didn't upgrade (I'm on the IUP) so why not get a new iPhone while I was at it. Was also not spending $1000+ on a phone, on-top the AppleCare, and on top of all the extra taxes just get a little notch on my phone. I am perfectly content with the bezels as I was several videos, so am happy with my decision!
