Upgrading from a gold 7 to an SG 8+. I've never had a black iPhone or a plus so I'm excited! The X was just too expensive and I'm weary of 1st gen designs, especially with the X having the notch and face id.

I Would say your post touched on a lot of points based on exactly why some are not upgrading to the iPhone X. Likely because the expensive price point, and there are many who prefer touch ID over Face ID As it currently stands. And I think the overall wait for the iPhone X might be worth it to some, but it's still a long ways out for those who receive their iPhone X after November 3 or later.

Me! Saving $300 and keeping Touch ID? Count me in! I’m part of IUP, so everything works out and I can see what comes out next year while still having True Tone, A11, etc.
That’s kind of where I’m sitting. Have the 7+ now with an 8+ on order. The X looks interesting but I’m not interested in learning a new UI/UX. I like my TouchID. The OLED screen would be nice but the notch is too fugly IMO.
from 6s plus to 8 plus. I'm not wowed by the X and that notch is ugly. Some people will get over it, I know i'm one of those people who won't. And the phone is too expensive. I'm not going to be a X first generation guinea pig either.

I got the 8 and put the extra towards an iPad Pro instead of buying the X.
I have the rose gold 7+ now and am upgrading to the gold 8+. Just wasn't blown away by the X during the keynote and I'm really not a fan of Face ID, at least what I've seen of it thus far. Time may prove me wrong, but I'm perfectly happy with waiting a year to see what the next iteration of the X is.
Great minds think alike! I'm upgrading from a gold 7 also, except I'm getting the regular 8 in SG. It's gonna be a nice change since I've had the white faced phones for awhile now.
Upgrading from the "regular" 7 to 8. Mainly for the addition of Band 66 (Verizon). Can't stand the size of the plus. I think the non-plus model is the perfect blend of size + portability/pocketability.
I'm intrigued by the X because it's similar in size to the non-plus 7/8 but with the larger screen. That said, I'm gonna sit the first round out and wait to see how people like the X and let Apple iron out some of the kinks. Hopefully the successor to the X is a nice improvement.
I also have a feeling the X is only going to exist for ~10 months before it's replacement is available next September.

I actually just bought an iPhone 7 yesterday after trading in my iPhone 6. The iPhone 8 and X look awesome, but I couldn't justify the $999 pricetag for the X, and at least to me, the 8 didn't have enough features to justify paying $150 more than the 7.

I've got a 256gb 8 + ordered. Thinking about doing that although I need the sim free version which won't come out for a while after nov 3. By that time the next iPhone x will be unveiled in just 9 months or so. Hoping for a iphone x plus next year.
I think you will be happy with your decision. I have the 7 plus and although I am upgrading (simply because I am on the AT&T next program) I would not be disappointed if I had to keep my phone another year. In fact, the only reason I am upgrading is to move back down to the regular sized iPhone.
It's been removed. I got a 3 month old product red 7 plus 256, from someone jumping on the x wagon.

For the price of a X I just picked up a iPhone 7 plus 256 and iPad 10.5 512 cellular , both with AppleCare , and it cost £50 less than a new x with AppleCare. They were both under 3 months and mint.
Had I gone straight to apple with the price hikes, the x and 10.5 would have cost me over £2400....
Im still using 6+ and plan to buy 8+
X with notch and narrow screen is a deal breaker sadly!
6+ constantly reloads pages and youtube crashes in landscape due to cheap allocation of 1g of ram. Battery life down to 1 hour use after full charge. These clowns running the show gotta go!

Partially it is. But it does have some fairly interesting technology embedded that Apple claims is the future. So I think altogether, consumers are curious about this technology with Face ID and its potential.
Yes me and thinking of selling 7 plus, even though 7 plus is working flawlessly but i am tempted for full glass body. Also i got impressed with s8+ so bought it last month. Like its design and edge to edge display.

If i not wrong i heard Tim Cook said he wants to release new iphones now every 2 years. I guess in 2018 there will be no new iphones and i think thats the right decision. We don't even use our phones properly and then time comes to sell it or buy new one. Waste of money and material of the earth
