Did you get any update ? We definitely shared the same flight to Anchorage, but mine has just departed from Anchorage, at 4:05PM (ASKST)...Probably heading to Newark via FDX92.

What about you ? Where is your destination ?

Mine's headed to Colorado...I didn't get an update, but I'm still hopeful, as my friend's example above illustrates, fedex sucks with their updates.

Have you ever gotten more details from the yahoo business site? It seems identical to fedex's info to me.

Glad yours made it out...it should make it to you by tomorrow. If mine made it on a flight around 4, mine still has a chance of catching a flight to Colorado Springs late night for tomorrow's delivery like my friend's did.

For one, I got an extra "Left FedEx Origin Location" four hours after the original. Although that may seem redundant, when I called FedEx, the guy relayed back to me the one that was listed on the site I provided even though it was not listed on FedEx's own site.

hmm...interesting. maybe the flight got delayed or changed or something.

I wonder if this is why fedex is slow to update their systems- in case of flight changes/ road conditions/ etc

those that are waiting for their mbp in memphis! mine updated to at sort desk facility in berkeley missouri! Its like less than one hour away !! i HAVE to get it tomorrow!! so excited ! even though the dang fedex still says march 8th at 4:30...

Yep mine too. Hopefully we both get our new machines tomorrow. Just curious, where in MO are you?

i am in pacific/washington ... which will be approx 56 minutes away from berkeley! what about u? do u think i should stay home tomorrow during the day to make sure?? and what time does fedex usually deliver???

Just got mine today, 17" AG custom build, 8gb, 128Gb ssd.

Was so happy that I got a nice screen 9cce with no burnt pixels and even light.

And then I see scratches in the middle of the screen. :(

Had to call and get a replacement. Now the new one will arrive on 8-14 of March.

I'm in St. Louis. If you can, you might want to stay home just to make sure you actually get the machine. You can always get the neighbors to sign for you too. I will be waiting diligently for my beast basically all day tomorrow, so this should be fun.

For me, at least, Fedex usually delivers in the morning, around 9. It depends on where you are in a certain driver's route. If you're at the beginning, you'll get it in the morning. But if you're at the end of the route, it could take until 4:30.

I just realized that Berkeley is actually only about 20 minutes from me. There is no way I won't get it tomorrow, unless Fedex has a major screwup.

What is the process of a replacement? Do you have to send your Macbook pro back first or they will pre authorize your credit card for the replacement, then refund your account when they receive the defective one?

I'm actually getting pretty worried, after reading another thread about the new 2011 models having other display issues. I guess I'll find out tomorrow :/

I strongly hope that is not the case, as my credit card can only handle ONE MBP charge at a time...

Well they wanted me to send the old one in before they shipped the new one but I told them that I payed for express shipping and that now I have to wait for the new one for two three weeks and they said they would process the order for the new one right away. Hope is true and that the new one has a good screen.

I really don't care about small imperfections on the case or keys that have uneven lighting, but scratches in the middle of the screen is really not acceptable on a $3k + machine.

Oh I thought it was about the quality of the screen.

Yeah freezing I heard about even with the previous generation.

I guess apples quality is not what it used to be.

I had 3 mbps and 2 pb before and all worked perfectly.

But my last one is pre unibody so I don't know how the quality of the new models is.

I used to be OCD but not anymore. But I draw the line at a really messed up screen with multiple scratches in the center and upper part of the screen.

I had my 17" HR LED AG 2008 mbp for 3 years now and the screen is mint not even one small scratch. I take really good care of the screen as I stare at it all day. The case has some scratches but that is fine and expected after 3 years.

Anyone from Perth received theirs?

Mines been on transit from Sydney for over a day now, thats one long flight! Doesn't look like I'll be getting it in time for the long weekend :(

Got an sms delivering today :D

Remember that fedex is a business and isn't going to leave any locations with half full planes or trucks. This is why people that ordered within 3 days of one another got on the same flight and why some people are chilling in Memphis at the moment.

It's also worth noting that a plane trip from alaska probably takes as long as some truck routes to other places. Fedex is a big business. They know what's up and how to get things from a to b the best way. Chill and relax :)

Does anyone know if FedEx has flights direct from AK to ATL? I live by the airport and there's constantly like 5 or 6 FedEx planes at the facility here... Just wondering if my package that left AK at 7p EST has ANY chance of being here Friday.

I would say there is a chance, but don't get too excited.

You can see fedex flights here: http://flightaware.com/live/fleet/FDX

AK is 4 hours off of EST, so your mbp left anchorage around the same time as mine today, (mine was at 355 AK time heading to dallas). http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX5092
Mar 3, 2011 3:55 PM Departed FedEx location ANCHORAGE, AK

I'm hoping it will then take the same route as my friend's did last night/today, a flight to Colorado springs late tonight to be in my hands tomorrow.

Yours could do the same thing, through one of the Fedex flights that left Anchorage: to indianapolis, memphis (most likely, as there were 3 flights headed here), or newark. (you can figure this out by finding the flight on the site above that left at the time your tracking says) from there, I'm sure there are plenty of flights to ATL, as those are all regional hubs for fedex.

BTW, the flight my laptop is on is flying over me right now, and then will come back...so close, but still so far.

I'm pretty sure it went to IND, which doesn't bode well for my pre-weekend delivery. So much for expedited shipping :(

No MBP for me this weekend, then. Package still sitting at Pudong International Airport (17hours now) :(

03 Mar 2011 21:54:13 Pudong International Airport Shipment Received At Transit Point.
03 Mar 2011 21:53:22 Pudong International Airport Shipment In Transit.
03 Mar 2011 21:41:00 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
03 Mar 2011 20:43:49 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
03 Mar 2011 19:37:10 Shanghai Shipment Collected From Sender.
03 Mar 2011 10:00:00 Shanghai Held Awaiting Correct Address. Follow Up Actions Underway.

But then, it's TNT, it could be halfway around the world or sitting in a warehouse 20 miles away for I know, their reps don't really know where packages are either.

As an experiment, I called them 3 times, got 3 different answers.

One said Monday, another Tuesday, and another said it would be here in their depot on Saturday.

Apple changed the date to Tuesday though, so I guess that's most accurate.

I'm pretty sure Fedex never updates their estimated deliveries. I'm guessing we'll both see our machines "out for delivery" by 8 AM tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Yep, the printer came super quickly for me too. I have yet to open it though, as I'm still deciding whether I want to actually just use my "free" printer, or if I should sell it and get an even bigger discount on my MBP.

Call apple and be nice but question why you paid for faster shipping. If you're a student, mention that. Present it as, "I love apple, and I'm just sorry that this service hasn't met apple's usual high level of service" and you should get a refund for you $18 shipping...I did after my mbp sat in Shanghai for an extra day. Worth a try anyways, particularly if it doesn't come tomorrow
