I have deleted a few important photos from my Iphone. Is there a way to get these back?

The phone has not been synched with these photos.

Thanks

Silly question... do you have Photo Stream on with iCloud? If so... you CANT delete those photo's, they stay out there for 30 days.

I had the same problem. Sent a bunch of my pics to the trash can never to be seen again. I used a program called FlashCrest Undelete to restore them...only thing is you'll need a PC. Plug your iPhone into your USB drive and it will appear on the left of the program...a bunch 'deleted' files will appear on the right. Restore the ones you want from there.

Delete buttons should just be renamed to: "You're pressing delete so that this isn't in your way anymore but it'll actually be stored elsewhere because we know you'll want it later!"

Only if that is true, because most of the time, that isn't how it works.

That's not how it should work at all. Delete is delete - it's gone. Yet more and more often people are looking for ways to 'undelete' things. What I wrote was a joke since it seems that a lot of people are deleting things when they don't want them but are expecting to be able to get them back when they decide they do need them (hard to relay sarcasm in writing..).

I did the same thing. So I downloaded a program called FlashCrest Undelete. Was able to restore a bunch of pictures that I had deleted. Good luck...

may i know what iphone version we're talking about?

and @stratusdodge:
regarding your cure which is the use of flashcrest undelete, do you think it'll also work for itouch 4th gen?

Dang 5k pics of your life, on your phone?
Well, at least you can still view them through your facebook account...:p

I am sorry for those who have legitimately lost photos...

But what the hell? When I delete photos, I want them gone. I see absolutely no logic in saving backups of deleted photos unless these photos are coming from an iPhone backup. Maybe I'm misunderstanding this (and I hope I am) but these deleted photos are saved on the unit memory of the iPhone for some reason? What possible mischievous reasons could Apple have for doing that? Simply to help the 0.1% of people who will delete photos on accident? These photos should only be available on backups. =__=

When you delete things from a PC they are not deleted, it is not that apple are saving them it's just deleting does not wipe the file, it just marks the space as free - at least that's how it works on a PC

They should be still in your iTunes backup folder or iCloud. Check them first.

I have not synched since the photos were taken.

Here is the full story:

I rented a car in Florida. Took photos of a few minor scratches when I accepted it.

Returned the car and since the case was closed for me, deleted these photos.

Now the car rental company claims damage to the back door and has charged me $250 on my Credit Card.

I am disputing the charge with my bank, but it would be nice to have the deleted photos as proof.

Good luck with this. I hate it when companies are skeezy like this and charge your card behind your back for things they come up with after they already accepted the rental back and said everything was okay.

U-Haul tried to do this to a friend, to the tune of $500, for "unspecified damage". They couldn't even tell him what was damaged on the truck, and refused to budge. Luckily AmEx took care of him, and did a chargeback. Chargebacks are the best way to keep these companies from stealing from us.

How would the photos prove the damage was not done by you. Pretty sure you inspected the car before you signed for it. Why would you sign for a damaged rental?

.

I hate renting cars in Florida. Besides the scratch issue, most of them have been used by smokers, despite the warning of a $250 cleaning charge. Twice I've had to demand a different car because the one they assigned me reeked so badly. I think the cleaning charge just goes to their pockets and they don't actually clean the car. I think it's the same with the scratches and such - they charge you but don't fix anything.
