It should be back soon.

You sound like you have insider knowledge. :)

These outages should not affect multiple stores at once. This is a design flaw. There should be more redundancy in place, and I trust this will improve over time.

Puh-leaze! Have you seen Mossberg, Dalrymple, and Gruber complaining about Apple apps before? And Apple already has a spotty reputation when it comes to web services.

That shiny profit Tim's so proud of is due, in large part, to Apple's reputation for making products "that just work". For some unknowable reason (at least to those outside Apple), he's squandering that reputation.

Apple is managing so much more complexity these days. It's understandable that it's a tough chore to manage everything, especially when the briefest problem is broadcast across the internets in seconds!

I do agree that Apple needs to be doing an even better job, but I also think it's important to realize that their job is 1000x more difficult than it was 10 years ago.

Am I the only one hearing the voice of Steve Jobs?
Probably, given that he's been dead for quite awhile.

When you're making the profit Apple is, there's no excuse for poor quality anything. Spend as much money as it takes to achieve the quality people expect and pay for.

Recently upgraded my MBP ( retina 2012 El Capitain ) to a new MBP, and copied everything over with Carbon Copy Cloner, and now I keep getting this:

If it worked yesterday, I'd give it a couple hours to sort itself out since they've been having trouble with iCloud today.

Apple should let AWS handle and manage their cloud services so we don't get anymore of these issues. :p

They already use AWS and maybe that's part of the problem?

These outages are inexcusable even though they've never really affected me. Imagine Facebook going down for even an hour?

I think they need to replace Eddy Cue at this point. Tim should be courting the guy who headed up search at Google who recently left. I'm sure he can assemble a team to get their data centers running like butter... and he'll help them with search which would be a huge added bonus.

Apple struggles with cloud services. IMO they over complicate the process, forgetting the engineering principle of KISS. Others make it simple then add features, Apple jumps right in at the most complicated point. Apple will get it right, good news but, at a good deal of customer pain. Maybe Apples's way of catching up to other's.

Went through the same garbage and got it resolved by pretending to have forgotten my e-mail.
Just keep clicking on that until it directs you to apple id.
If you can log in there change your password.
You may actually have to do it a few times before it sticks.

At least that's what did it for me.

But, I try not to use iCloud.

Could Apple be doing (experimenting, changing, updating, etc) something with iCloud and App Store server past several months? I don't remember having issues with those services until a year ago or so.

Apple has updated its System Status page to reflect that many users may be unable to access, purchase, or update apps on the App Store on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Multiple other iCloud services are or were also experiencing downtime, including the iTunes Store, iBooks Store, iCloud Drive, and iWork for iCloud.

The issues began shortly before 7:00 a.m. Pacific and appear to be widespread, affecting customers in the United States, Canada, Europe, and elsewhere, according to social media posts. Apple TV services and Apple's Volume Purchase Program are also affected by the service issues.

Update (9:10 a.m. Pacific): Apple's System Status page shows that the App Store, iTunes, and other iCloud services have been restored.

[doublepost=1454614778][/doublepost]This must be why I haven't been able to watch my iTunes movie purchases on the Apple TV.

Plus, why did they switch from a reliable CDN like Akamai to their own worldwide distributed data centers? I mean, why reinvent the wheel?

Puh-leaze.... The complexity of what Apple is doing is unprecedented. Of course, none of us enjoy the outages. But the vast majority of people on this board spend a good portion of their lives bashing Apple over every tiny little thing and expect absolute perfection from Apple. I'm sure you'll next tell us that Google, Yahoo, and every other company dealing with complex technology operates perfectly.

This current problem was resolved very quickly. Too bad the hatred and immaturity that characterizes this board will never resolve as long as most of you long to and enjoy heaping hatred on Apple. Look at your name, "Duck of Death". 'Nuff said.

None of my playlists that I edit or songs that I add on my Mac will update to my iPhone.

I have both Apple Music Subscription and Match. The apple support page shows all services working properly again.

I think not.

No sure why people are complaining, apple and not improved or gotten worse when it comes to cloud, they are average . These outages are inline with others. Majority of people would have not noticed.

couldn't access Apple music for some time either.... all hunky-dorey now. :D

That's situation normal with Apple Music :p
