Update 2: Appears to be back up and running.

Update 1: According to 9to5mac Apple customer service are aware that the iTunes servers are down, and they are working to bring it back up.


App Store down? I can't download any apps on my PC, iPhone or iPad 2 on both 3g & wifi. I am in the UK. Anyone else got this problem? It's just stuck ,with a white icon on the home screen, saying waiting on every app I try to download.

Thank God, lol.

When I try to use the App Store on my iPhone I get a white icon, then an error message saying "Connection Refused".

When I try to log into my account on iTunes on my Mac, I get either Network Connection error or Connection Refused in red text on the sign in box.

Must be down.

I can't connect to the iTunes store right now either.
 
"Trade Nations" published an update that the game required you to download before it would let you play again. That's how I noticed it. My guess is everyone is trying to get updates at the same time.
 
Strangely mine is working. I just downloaded a new app about two minutes ago. It was very slow though.

Yea it happened to me when facebook just pushed out an update to their app. Considering how popular it is, I bet millions of people are simultaneously trying to update.
 
Trade Nations went above and beyond with this one in that when you open the current version of the game, it tells you that you cannot play it again until you download the update.

Between this and the fact that they give people in-game freebies for downloading other apps is not going to make Apple too happy.

I'm getting the "connection refused" error too when I try to update my apps. I feel better knowing I'm not the only one, I thought someone messed with the router and blocked my phone haha.
 
Apparently the AppStore has been hacked by a german hacker team under the name m0ŷter
 
In addition to App Store, I can't login to me.com (both store.apple.com and support.apple.com work though).
 
Free apps seem to be OK for the most part, but they have shut down their payment gateway...probably to protect themselves during the attack on the app store.
 
same problem with iphone

I'm getting "Connection Refused" when I try to buy or update update on the App Store on the iPhone4 as well. I first tried to buy an app, and it looked like it worked, but then I got "Connection Refused" and the app has disappeared from my screen. Now I'm not sure if I've actually bought it or not.
