iTunes is messed up, too. Quite a few movies in my wish list don't show up when I do a text search. And yet, there they are when I click on the wish list item.

I don't understand how this can actually happen when the search term is so clear. Anyone here able to speculate as to what might be going on with such as simple search term turning up bogus results?

Apple updated App Store search algorithm few days ago and I bet that this is related...

And yet, when you search for Apple's own apps, they're not even there.

Search for 'remote' and you won't even find Apple's Apple TV remote control app which is named just 'remote'. You need google to find it.

It's been that way as far as I know. I can rarely find apps by typing in their names. I need to search them on google, then I get a link to the app store.

That is definitely strange..

Well good, I was searching my own app this morning and thought it had been pulled or something.

I was unaware search was supposed to work :D
I thought it was a blank field :D

Actually it works when you know what you want but their is very little predictive learning - you have to spell correctly.

"it just works" - beancounter Tim and Eddie-no-clue style.

I admit that I don't follow as closely to Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, Spotify etc - so I might not know about their outages - but I honestly can say that there is not a single service provider in my own personal experience as unreliable as Apple. I can't remember a single outage from Google services, for example. And I can't count how many outages, glitches and just purely unfinished online services I have experienced from the "it just works" company. :/

Looks like iCloud is also down. Can access the site but logged me out and cannot log in. "invalid password" message.

[Edit] Back up (for now).

Yet another sign of unreliability from Apple. GIven what the execs get paid it's about time they got out of the car and started pushing. Is anyone accountable at Apple for anything except cashing in stock options?

Thanks. I spent 20 minutes on hold with developer support before stumbling on this article and hanging up.. thought it was just my apps. In other news, I got my daily dose of reggae music while waiting. Thanks for that apple.

You can still use Google to find and download apps. Easier to do that regardless of whether app store search is working anyway. :(
Had to do exactly that for downloading Shazam.

Unsolicited life story of what happened:
- Did a backup a couple of days ago
- Restored the phone (for carrier unlocking purposes)
- There was a song playing at the gym.
- See that I don't have the app (for some reason Shazam didn't back up)
- App Store doesn't show it, go to google to see if it was banned for some reason.
- Find the link via google, download.
- ... song was already over.

Apple, I want my money back, this could have become a serious accident! : p
