This 10mb limit is a bunch of crap. Most audio podcasts I listen to are much larger in size. Video podcasts? Forget about it...

I should be able to download whatever I want, wherever I want, whenever I want. This has AT&T's stench all over it.

I'm pretty sure that most people think of wireless sync as syncing with iTunes. It's not really the same thing as over-the-air podcast downloading.

I didn't mean all the people thought that this of this as wireless syncing. What I am hinting at is that this is a step in the right direction and could be considered a type of wireless sync.

So that's why Podcaster was not approved (or is it? heh).

Dibs on the currently non-existent but seriously awesome feature for iPhone. I got there first, Apple. ;)

Anyway, I assume this firmware upgrade will (again) not be free for iPod touch owners... Would I be correct? (I hope I'm wrong, since I have one.)

Yep. You'd be right in saying that. Apple denied our app, Podcaster, from the store because of this. Because a lot of people would have paid us the $4.99, but then when this feature comes out for free from Apple, and not with a separate app, people will complain, and wan money back. Because that's what people are like.

Shame really.

Apple flat out admitted that copy an paste is not a priority to them. While you can't just throw people at a problem, in real software firms (I work at one) they are built to scale projects and tasks up. The bottom line is that they implement the features that they want -- not the one that their customers want.

And even if copy and paste is too hard then let them get the email app working in landscape mode. Simple changes that people want rather than very niche features that are of dubious value to their customer base.

First and foremost the iPhone is a phone, and secondly it is an iPod. To me being able to download "podcasts" on an iPOD sounds like a pretty important feature.

However, I agree that copy/paste should be a top priority, and that landscape mode for email (and other apps) is probably a fairly quick fix that they are just ignoring.
