Did you run into a door or something? No, the victim of a photo grab, who has no idea how the photos actually were obtained, blaming the deepest pocket in the room, is not factually enough for me. YMMV.

Are you sure she doesn't know where the photos came from. Isn't it possible that there was only one location those photos existed?

...
Some of the photos were not taken on iPhones, because those pictures were sent by the celebrity to others through text messages/email and ended up on iPhones that were backed up to iCloud.

...
(this info came from emails of the hacker that was posted on 4chan)

I still think time will show most of these celebs actually sent these pics to other people over time and no real "hack" has occurred. Again, Once you send your nudie pic (whether you're a celebrity or a nobody) to anyone else, no matter how trustworthy you think they are, all bets are off and you should assume it will end up very public. The lowest tech answer to the publication of these pictures is probably the right one.

No, she doesn't know. Surely you know enough to make a list of all places those photos could have been grabbed while stored, or in transit.

Don't try to back track now just because their is evidence pointing at Apple being at fault.

Let's see Kirsten Dunst has clearly blamed iCloud, Apple is known to have released a security patch over the American holiday weekend, which fixes the hole these hackers claim they breached, yet people on here STILL refuse to see this as anything Apple has done, or that the photos came from iCloud accounts.

Right..

People and news organizations are blaming 4Chan for this when it was in fact the result of operators on AnonIB.

What exactly is your point?

I'm not sure what you're saying.

I just got back from a vacation. I know exactly where all the photos I took are whether on my phone or DSLR.

So again - are you saying that she definitively doesn't know where the photo(s) were stored?

Why on earth would she go to jail? Since when was it illegal to take naked pictures? Or has the US finally lost the plot and gone full Orwellian?
Even if she did post naked pictures of herself that's still legal.

Beastiality is illegal in most places. That's why she could go to jail. That's why she's so pissed off. She is on film taking a dog.. Who'd want that out?

Trespassing is still a crime.

And nothing is completely secure. So no matter what happens in the future - even with passwords being uber creative and 'secure" - there will always be victims.

I don't believe blaming victims is the right 'angle" here. Especially since they were completely exploited. And in hopes of making money off of their private documents.

This is not just a security issue. Go read this blog entry to better understand why you shouldn't be blaming the victim.

The thing is... there will always be bad people in this world. There will always be hackers. You can't go around acting oblivious to all this then be surprised when something bad happens. You can't prevent everything but you can take common sense measures to mitigate risk.

Did they deserve to get hacked? Hell no. Nobody deserves that. But, that is one of the evils that we must live with today. Common sense and personal responsibility say you should do simple common sense things to help protect yourself from these evils. It's not fail proof but in many cases it could help.

It's like going out in the city late at night. You'll most likely be fine, but there's always a risk. You can reduce the risk by going out with a friend instead of going out alone. Same thing here, the risk of data breach can be greatly reduced by secure passwords. Adding a few more bits of entropy and your password could go from being able to be brute forced in a couple hours or days to taking hundreds of years.

Ok. But my objection is laying blame on victims of a crime. Wouldn't it be far better/productive and human to come from a position of defense for those wronged. There are those on this thread and elsewhere on the net that are saying it's their fault. They deserve it. Not ONE of them deserves it. I agree that better educating everyone on the importance of password security is important.

I personally think that because these are celebrities, some people seem to think they "deserve" it even more. It's not their fault. They don't deserve what happened. I hope I'm being clear.

Oh my God people, you've reached an all time low now, so you now feel confident enough to state as a FACT Kirsten Dunst DOES NOT KNOW WHERE SHE KEEPS HER OWN NUDE PHOTOS. Or that her blaming iCloud doesn't matter as 4chan or whatever it is, is where the photos came from? Even though they got them from her iCloud account.

No, you lot need to deal with it, she has blamed iCloud, not a made up person, but Kirsten herself, and if you are going to state she has no idea where she keeps her photos, well then your also stating as a fact you know Kirsten personally well enough to know exactly where she keeps her nude photos or you are one of the hackers... Because their is NO other way you can possibly know as a fact where else she keeps them.

Switch Apple with Samsung/Google/Microsoft, and I wonder how much of the responses on here (especially from the insane Fan BOY/GIRL) would change.

I'm betting quite a lot.

So much hypocrisy on here, it's amazing at this point.

Bottom Line,

If you do not want naked pictures of yourselves all over the internet, don't take naked pictures of yourselves, morons.

No. She does NOT know how those photos were grabbed. She knows they originated on some device, and she knows they were stored on iCloud. She assumes they weren't grabbed from her phone. She ignores the possibilities that they were grabbed by someone else with access to the original device or the computer they originally were on. She ignores the possibility that they were intercepted on the way to iCloud. She dismisses all the other possibilities. Better put some ice on that injury before it gets worse.

The title should be edited to read: "At Least Hackers Have Found Value in Photostream"

Isn't it possible that after they were uploaded to iCloud that she removed the photos from her device immediately.

So I ask you - how do YOU know that she doesn't know where the photo(s) came from.

Wow I wish I was as smart as you, being able to totally ignore all the current evidence and make up an assumption I believe to be totally correct, so long as it doesn't implement Apple in ANY WAY must be a great feeling

Because that is exactly what you have done, chosen to ignore fact because you don't like it, and make something up, despite the fact Kirsten has confirmed she knows where she keeps her photos... You just want to argue it with complete and utter rubbish because you don't like Apple being implemented in the hack.

Currently your argument is the same as if I argued as a FACT you have NO idea where you live, even though I see you go into your home everyday. That's your logic.

Again go and read previous comments to understand where the beastiality thing comes from, I've no idea what the video contains, have you seen it then?

I havent seen it because it does not exist. There are some photos that look like J Law with ... on her face, but it isn't her.

Obviously Apple is not at fault. All they make are kittens and unicorns, who could blame kittens and unicorns? Of course it's the rich hollywood beyootch who has posted her own pics on 4chan. Obviously, like duh!

Wait, what? That's not what I saw.

J law didn't do anything with a dog lol

There are no zoophilia pictures of Jennifer Lawrence nor news about it… please link if you have proof.

Let me clarify- I can't be 100% absolutely certain it was in fact her, but the room in the video looks exactly like the room in some of her pictures, and the female in the dog video looks just like her.

It's enough for me to conclude it's her.

I will not link to it, you sick-o. I didn't go looking for what I have seen. There was a YouTube link posted with no description and when clicked, played an approximately 30 second clip of said actions with said actress. (Allegedly, ok?)

If you really must investigate this further- the video title on YouTube was:

Porndog LEAKED FROM 4chan.

It was posted along with two or three other short clips of other actresses on RaydarGames channel and after a few hours were deleted.

Of course this won't hit the news. The news will push a different agenda- if you want privacy, let your phone get your DNA (or whatever other Orwellian process they come up with next)
