Exactly right. It’s just a way to whine and complain about expensive things with some sort of manufactured righteous indignation.
Just before Christmas last year I purchased a new $300.00 HP Notebook from Costco. It had an i3 8series processor, 4Gb memory, 1080 display and a 64Gb drive. My intention was to put a couple Linux distros on it. Instead, I upgraded it to 8Gb, a 500 SSD, and switched to Windows 10 Home from the "S" installed version. For a total investment of $450.00, I can access my Apple account, iTunes, Photos, Email etc. It got me to thinking how expensive my MacBook Pro is compared to the cheap HP notebook.

Love mine - just a great machine that has fully replaced my desire for a desktop Mac Pro. And it drives an LG Ultrawide 5K display beautifully. A lightweight and beautiful beast.

how much is Apple paying you to drink that koolaid??

"not for free". daaamn

yawn. Millions of folks prefer MacOS over that virus they call Windows. Apple doesn't have to pay us a penny. The Windows forums are down the hall and to the left. Sorry you got lost. Have a nice journey.

Still feels like these things are over priced.

And given my experience with the one they gave me at work? I would never spend that much on this model series. Bad user experience with the keyboard and dongle debacle, if the battery dies you can't just run it off of power alone.... throttling nonsense. Just not a premium product for the premium price.

Likely returned by a failing YouTuber. As much as these new models are enticing, my 2015 MBP 13 is doing just fine although there is some struggle with VM’s. I want to see what Apple does in late 2021; the ARM rumors have me concerned.

6-core i9 2.8ghz/32gb/1tb/Radeon Vega 20 4gb, bought, confirmed, and shipped.

Saved $1000 CAD.

I love you Refurb Store.

You are trying to tell me using MacOS is worth thousands of dollars?
Please

You're trying to tell me using Windows is worth the frustration? PLEASE.

I'm more than happy to pay for something that works.

Being said, I am well aware, it works for ME, not for you. You pay for what works for you, I'll do the same. Check your bias.

I wouldn't buy one and I'm in the 6 figures...its not who can afford one but "Why???" buy this when there are several better non-mac options out there.

In my experience, non-MAC is non-better.

Some think the higher price equates to premium and/or luxury rather than looking at what you get for what you pay for. IMO, I never see an electronic device as luxury and merely paying more for added options. It should really be about what works for you and what you use it for.

Why do you say that? Apples Refurbished Process is pretty strong and still comes with the exact same warranty along with AppleCare to be purchased so they do stand behind it.
I believe that poster was talking about the T2 chip, and it’s chronic kernel panic, that appear to be baked into the 2018 MBP and NOT Apple refurb products in general.

You can read about it here in this 131 page thread - https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/2018-macbook-pros-crashing-with-bridge-os-error.2128976/
