Your not getting sports without cable unless your getting it from your HD antenna (and there is no blackout); you think they're paying billions and you'll get the NFL, NCAA, NHL, MLB for nothing?
say you have kids or a wife or both and want to watch the game on another TV in peace and quiet and don't want to rent a second cable box for $10 a month
or your wife hates violence and you want to watch the hockey playoffs and stanley cup games
I never said I have an expectation of paying nothing. I said that I am a cable cutter. All that means is that I refuse to pay ComCrap for their horrible service. Still stuck with them for internet, but not giving them anything more than I have to.
As for your other comment, if you think that a cable subscription is the only way that a sporting event makes money then you simply do not understand how things work.
So I have to buy a cable subscription to watch a channel on Apple TV that I can already watch on my existing cable? What's the point of this?
This NBC Sports 'channel' is progress, but like roughly half of the 'channels' on Apple T.V., it requires a cable subscription. It would be great to be able to watch Baseball games without having to subscribe to cable or the $100/year MLB.T.V. service.

There is a lot of content which you can't watch on TV.
For example, NBC might be covering more than one sporting event at a time. So maybe they are covering three different hockey games today, and which one you see is determined by which market you are in. On TV you can only watch that one game. On Live Extra, you can pick whichever one you want.
Also on Saturdays/Sundays, they have every Premier League game available to stream, while only one is shown on TV.
I have been waiting and waiting to watch Premier League games out here without using AirPlay. Just realized though... that it's impossible to put my Apple TV through a VPN though so....![]()
