I’ll repeat: they are as color accurate as when they were plugged in, 65% P3 and AdobeRGB of accuracy you say? Alright, they still are 65% P3 and AdobeRGB.

LMAO.

My 11 years old monitor aCCurAtE as the day I bought it.

The latest firmware did not solve the issue. My sound went out this morning after updating yesterday. Just went through the gauntlet with Apple support on this. I paid $2000 to have my device work reliably the day I bought it, not some possible day months or years from now.

The joke is on me: I bought this display to bypass my MacBookPro M1 Max speaker issues.

Love my ASD. I am just marveling at how much better it is than my LG Ultragear 4K monitor on the side of it. That's the 27GP950 model for those wondering.

Update: An Apple Genius allowed me to return the display. What a relief. It's been nothing but problems. I'm as big of an Apple suck as they come but this thing was one of my first big Apple regrets. I'll happily buy another Apple Studio Display when all of these issues are fixed, but at this point I'm probably looking at a 27" iMac that I can use with Universal Control or the next version of the Pro Display HDR. If I'm going to spend $2000, it better work all the time and it better be the best display you can buy.

I'm about to purchase a ASD. Has this issue been resolved yet?

I don't know. I returned it. In my opinion, I would not buy this display again. Front page news: new ones are in the pipe.

In my case, I managed to revive by 2012 iMac by installing macOS Ventura (using openCore) and now have a 27" display that uses Universal Control to move from my MacBookPro to my iMac seamlessly with the same keyboard and touch pad. I'll hold onto this solution for awhile until new displays come out.

In addition to the bugs, the camera sucked and the 64GB and Apple silicon chip seemed wasted. When you think about it, it's way too expensive for the compromises you have to look away from.

Fair. In my case, I picked one up on launch day and never had a single problem with daily use. Would absolutely buy another if the need arises, or would buy again.

I also will add that the ASD has been a fantastic addition to my home office. I've used it quite a bit with my work MBP but I've even used it on occasion with my personal MBA.
