We already have the department. It's the Government Accountability Office (GAO). They identified around $240 billion in government waste in 2022. Mainly through over payments to vendors and other organizations.
As opposed to DOGE that mainly seems to be identifying funding that they have policy disagreements with so far.

Earlier today I found out that while the name is updated in google maps, that's only for views from within US. If you use their map service from Mexico, it will say "Gulf of Mexico". If used from UK, it says "Gulf of Mexico (America)".

But you know what…in private , so many on the left actually agree with some things they say they hate.
