I'll take this any day over all the privacy violating requests the UK is making of Apple
Don’t forget to change all the american cities from English towns/cities to something else (New York to New Trump, New Hampshire to New JD Vance, etc.!)Waiting for the rename of the state of New Mexico to New America
While we're at it, let's rename Mexico Beach in Florida to America Beach
City of Mexico, Missouri? City of America, Missouri.
I would have gone with Gulf of North America, but Gulf of America is ok. I could see getting upset if it was renamed Gulf of the United States, but it’s not. It’s a gulf in the American continent. 🤷🏻♂️
Apparently it was somehow geographic DEI. And fixing it lowers the price of groceries, probably. These are the hard hitting issues I want my government addressing as soon as they take office!!. the name of a body of water was really affecting this country in a negative way /s
Don’t put ideas in their tiny heads haha 😂Don’t forget to change all the american cities from English towns/cities to something else (New York to New Trump, New Hampshire to New JD Vance, etc.!)
That article states, ‘Anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International said FCPA made the United States a leader in addressing global corruption.’ That’s a bit laughable when your president has the power to just pardon anyone they want, effectively overturning justice (and all the hard work of enforcing it) on a whim.Trump loosens enforcement of US law banning bribery of foreign officials
I remind you: I said nothing about "the libs"! I said "the American political class loves renaming stuff [...] I think it's silly"!Yes, changing the name of military bases named after traitors from the 1860s is an awful destruction of tradition that must be reversed, but renaming a body of water that has 400 years of being called the Gulf of Mexico is a-ok, because we must "own the libs"
To be clear, my comment wasn't directed at you, just was using it as a jumping off to make a point. Should have made that more clear!I remind you: I said nothing about "the libs"! I said "the American political class loves renaming stuff [...] I think it's silly"!
That said: Yes, the Gulf of Mexico is not named after the country of Mexico, because it had that name before the country existed. Both the Gulf and the country (along with the US State of New Mexico) are named after the Mexica, aka the Aztec Empire: A regime built on human sacrifice, extreme oppression of indigenous peoples, etc.
Again, I called the American political class's habit of renaming stuff "silly" (be it gulfs or military bases)! But my point is: You could make much the same moral case for renaming stuff which was named after the Aztecs, as you could for renaming stuff which was named after American Civil War generals.
Give me the option to opt out of the Trump show.
We all know this is being reverted on day one by the next Dem.
I definitely hope this will be reverted by the next Dem President. These kinds of changes are uncalled for. Why suddenly Gulf of America?
I’ve been thinking that, but then again there’s so much happening in plain sight that I think maybe they feel they don’t need to hide anything.Makes one wonder what this move is supposed to distract us from. We're here arguing about the (lack of) point in renaming a body of water instead of listening to what else they're up to.
Not before the fainting couch or rolled eyes!Macrumours needs a vomit emoji. 🤢
You’re splitting hairs. Trump meant America as in USA. What’s next the “Atlantic CITY Ocean”?I would have gone with Gulf of North America, but Gulf of America is ok. I could see getting upset if it was renamed Gulf of the United States, but it’s not. It’s a gulf in the American continent. 🤷🏻♂️
