If you call it Gulf of America you’re a cultist.

One orange man waking up one day and saying “I’m gonna call it gulf of America” doesn’t make it so. And if you buy into it you’re part of the cultist problem that Trump counts on for power. I’m never calling it the Gulf of America.

It’s the Gulf of Mexico.
It’s legally called Gulf of America. And you’re clinically in denial

They could easily stay out of this madness for four years yet they decided to play games with that orange man administration. What an embarrassment and a disappointment

I remember having to change Mt Mckinley in Alaska to Denali when Obama signed an executive order to make the change.... It's at the whim of the President apparently
In 1975, the state of Alaska requested that the mountain be officially recognized as Denali, as it was still the common name used in the state and was traditional among Alaska Native peoples. This change action was repeatedly blocked by members of the congressional delegation from Ohio, the home state of the mountain's presidential namesake.
The mountain had been unofficially named Mount McKinley in 1896 by a gold prospector and officially by the federal government in 1917 to commemorate William McKinley, who was President of the United States

I definitely hope this will be reverted by the next Dem President. These kinds of changes are uncalled for. Why suddenly Gulf of America?
I hope the next Dem just uses total power to wipe all of this away.

When Republicans inevitably cry, we can point and say Trump started a precedent.

There’s literally an apartheid South African firing long-term government employees left and right with NO oversight.

I would have gone with Gulf of North America, but Gulf of America is ok. I could see getting upset if it was renamed Gulf of the United States, but it’s not. It’s a gulf in the American continent. 🤷🏻‍♂️
I think you put more thought into that then the President of the United States did. Lets just treat it as a special needs case for the US and only change it on their map. Most Americans don't travel, so the won't even know we havent changed the maps or paid any attention.

Define Constitutional Crisis
In the course of government, a constitutional crisis results when one or more of the parties to a political dispute willfully chooses to violate a law of the constitution; or to flout an unwritten constitutional convention; or to dispute the correct, legal interpretation of the violated constitutional law or of the flouted political custom. We’re seeing quite a bit of this lately.

I agree. There are better things for the administration to focus on than this (or not -- if someone does not like the current administration, maybe they'll be happy this is what's done instead of something else). Because the gulf touches multiple (North) American countries, the Gulf of America is more appropriate than the Gulf of Mexico. I don't really care either way though.
