i just noticed that....im thinking they probably updated it...but this is more of a "mirror" per say of the old store...at midnight pst it will update im guessing...

thats just an idea

Hm maybe they loaded in the prices and everything then they'll 'flick the switch' on the prices once Black Friday officially begins?

do not forget recycling

I'm ready to order a second iMac 17" 2.0 from the Apple on-line store after midnight.

Besides the estimated US$100 discount on Black Friday the retail stores and the on-line store should provide a coupon giving one access to Apple's low profile recycling program. One can recycle up to 140 pounds (less shipping boxes) of old computer junk by obtaining from Apple two Fed-Ex shipping labels. Drop two boxes off at Fed-Ex and Apple will pay for the shipping to their recycling center. Supposedly good equipment gets directed to worthy organizations and the toxic stuff gets recycled properly. If you buy a Mac elsewhere you can't participate in Apple's recycling program.

My 1989 LaserWriter II still prints fine but will not work with any of my current Macs. A 1994 Sony 17" CRT monitor and a Power Mac 6100 are likewise ready to recycle. Where I live it would cost me $75 at the dump and over $100 to ship them to a responsible computer recycler.

Looks like it's up and running now. 🙂

New Macbooks $899!!

I was in the Best Buy in West Los Angeles and they have the previous models Macbooks and Macbooks pros. I asked if they were sending them back to Apple and they said they were blowing out all the discontinued Macs at 5 am Black Friday. The manager there said I could buy the entry model Macbook for $899.99! Its the first generation with Intel core duo but so what. They also had the Macbook pros too. This is the info I got that day. He also said they had the most inventory and the other Bestbuys weren't as aggressive in pricing which I believe because I was at another store and they had none of the older macs.

1.83MacbookCD white $899.99
2.0 Macbook Pro $1499.99
2.16 Macbook Pro $1699.99

They had other models too but I could only see so much in those tacky cages.

I was hoping for a little more of a discount on some of those items. I'd figure with the Nano at least $20 off from $149. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Only about 15 minutes to go for 12:00am PST! 🙂

I'll go for the 4GB Pink nano for my girlfriend ($21.00 discount).

I *might* buy Photoshop Elements (BUT it is not Universal Binary) for $68.00.

The Shure E4C 'phones are $61.95 less!

Umm...😱

Well my order only totals to $143.00, which included one sale item for .Mac but all sales count towards Apples stock. 😀

17" iMac 2.0Ghz ordered 20 minutes ago.

A check off box at check-out enrolls me in Apple recycling program.

The $101 iMac discount becomes $93 in California because of a state imposed extra tax for new computer monitor purchases. $ goes to local dumps to help pay for the processing of dumped computer gear.

monitor 4-14.9" $6 (MacBook)
monitor 15-34.9" $8 (everything else)
monitor >35" $10 (future iMacs?)

Pink iPod Nano for my girlfriend...
iSkin case for my 60GB iPod I've been too lazy to get...
.Mac subscription for my new iMac after enjoying the 60-day trial...

Promo Savings: -$63.90

No complaints here. 😀

Airport Ultra

Huge saving on airport express. New Airport Ultra Express (802.11n) at Macworld!

Confirmed! 🙂

Oddly enough, from the education store, you can't get the extra discounts. Well at least not on the ipod...but on the government store ... YOU CAN!
I would have save an extra $30 if I went through the gvt store. OOOPS! Hopefully someone else benefits from this post and doesnt make the same mistake! I will probably call apple in the morning and see if I can get the extra savings ... but just a heads up if you are a gvt employee!
😀

Just one more thing that's US-only (iTunes TV shows, movies, etc etc). Here in UK there is never an Apple Store sale (except refurbs) as far as I have seen.

*Sighs*

So ... enjoy your US black Friday savings, even if they are only small ones!

well then i'll go back to sleep...

figuring you only save 1 dollar more on a macbook than you would w/ just an educational discount..i'll get it tomorrow...

oh btw..a hint...if you go to an apple store and buy a giftcard for the amount you need online...then you can use the gift card..get free shipping...plus get your 100 bucks off on a macbook w/ educatoinal discount and have no tax...

so you really end up saving 200 bucks....thats what im doing just a heads up
