so guys,

does anyone think that the discounts will be able to be used in conjunction with educational discounts? if so that'd be great...if not...then i guess you still save an additional 50 bucks? that'd be ok!

tell me what you think about hte question?

In store you should be able to get both discounts.

Well I went to the Mall of America Apple Store (Bloomington Minnesota) that opened at 6am CST, bought a Macbook, and have since returned home.

I was the first person in the store at the register, and the 1st to buy a computer today at that store :)

I got the C2D 1.83 GHZ (Base model ;) ) for $1062.87 out the door :) .

Why don't Apple do anything like that outside of their own country, god knows they're cheaper in America than here.

Globalisation with none of the benefits.

This is a great sale for those who do not qualify for the education discount.

My friend is buying an iMac for his girlfriend and I think he'll end up pulling the trigger today online.

It's only $101.00 off, but that's enough to cover a few extras.

I'm still seeing only one discount applied online.

I was not able to get an EDU discount and sale discount.
BUT, if you are a gvt worker you can get both discounts.
I priced out a new 80GB ipod w/2 Evo3 skins, and the applecare protection plan and it was $30 cheaper with the GVT discount ... but no luck with EDU

Hopefully it still applies to corporate discounts too. Can anyone confirm what?

Well I just spent over 100 bucks on these specials. Call of Duty 2 special was too good not to pass up and I always upgrade my .mac account on this day.

I am saving the rest of my money for a iPhone or new video iPod.

Looks like it does. I checked the corporate discount page. The 24" iMac regular $1999, is $1880 - $101. Not bad. $1779 shipped.
Too bad there's no savings on the Mac Pro.

Huge saving on airport express. New Airport Ultra Express (802.11n) at Macworld!

Confirmed! :)

Can you please tell us where you heard that? Regardless, I think I will still go with the sale and get another Express. Don't base it on the sale because they have had the Expresses on sale for the last two black Fridays.

Just wanted to make a point/post about the Black Friday e-mail that was sent.

All of the "accessories" have the old and new prices listed (with a line striking out the old price). The ipod and mac prices are actually the original, non-sale prices. The "save $xx" are reflected in the prices listed. Its not until you put one in the cart that you see an $898 price.

My point is the "Save $101" in red for the imacs/macbooks is followed by a "starting at $999" price that is in fact the "pre-discount" price. You would think they would be advertising the sale price!

I am not a mac model price expert (like some of you on here), but when I saw "starting at $999" for the MBs and imacs, it just didnt register as a good deal.

They could have printed the prices in a much more clear way.

Why do people upgrade .mac on thanksgiving.
Isn't the price on amazon cheaper(or at least as cheap as), and no tax?!

Updated my .Mac account

For the past two black Fridays, I have updated my .mac account. This year will be no acception. $68 is certainly better than $99.

99.00 per year divided by 12 Months = $8.25 per month. $68 per year divided by 12 Months = $5.66. A much better deal.

It is actually cheaper than the Apple Store. The only reason I went to Apple was because Call of Duty. It was the same price as Amazon in total, but I would rather give Apple the business since I own lots of stock.:D

Just saved $101 on a BTO 24" iMac and $11 on Parallels. Bought some other random stuff, but no savings.

Now I've got that waiting-for-the-new-computer-to-ship itchiness.

:)

Additional discounts in store?

Are they giving any additional discounts at the retail stores? I thought somebody said that last year they received a scratch off card with 10% off.
