What time does the sale start online, anyone??
I'm writing from Atlantic Standard Time (11:27 pm now)
Thanks.

"Shopping event is available only at the online Apple Store on November 24 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. PST and at Apple retail stores."

Good! Now I know when to check online to see if I should hit the local store.

Wait it says PST. *sob*

Thanks!

Great! Only 15 minutes to go and I can sleep in in the morning.
Thanks again.
:)

Duh, PST. I was so excited I didn't see that PST. Oh well guess I'll be gtting up early after all.

Any info on what the Canadian Apple Store discount prices will be?

meh I'd assume on par with the american ones, it's a nice gesture to extend it to canadians as well, but at the same time I'm not sure how i feel about having black friday migrate north of the border.

so guys,

does anyone think that the discounts will be able to be used in conjunction with educational discounts? if so that'd be great...if not...then i guess you still save an additional 50 bucks? that'd be ok!

tell me what you think about hte question?

ok another question...if i go into a retail store and their sold out of hte macbook i want...can i pay and have it shipped...i know i can use the online store its just that i cant use a credit card or have access to one....

so would i still get the same discount?

and also....at the retail store...do u think they'll be SUPER busy with other things and too busy for me?

I guess it's just me, but none of the deals seem to be that great. No store has anything that seems to be getting me all excited, so meh, I guess I can sleep in.

dont be pissed off, many years ago you had the pleasure of persecuting the pilgrams for their religion, for which they left the uk to establish black friday in america. now i guess u wish you werent so intolerant, cuz now we get the discounts!

Um. There's 17th C history, and there's 21st C reality. Intolerance? I'm sure it's a gag, but perhaps it's worthwhile to look at the influence of the religious right on American politics today.

Nope-o-rama

Nope, the discounts are only going to apply to purchases of stuff that day, no rainchecks for out of stock items or anything like that. Sorry for the bad news!

I am able to purchase through their Corporate Employee Purchase program which is usually about the same discount as the student discount. Apple sent an email to announce the sale and it says "Additional EPP savings on select sales items". I believe you will be able to use the two together. Anyway we will see.

and when you say EPP why do u think that will imply to me? i am not part of a corporate thing only a "university" student. I am acutally a high school student but am enrolled in college classes...i have a university id tho..

so you think it will be included?

I hope AppleCare will be on sale.

Next time you're buying a new Mac at an Apple Store and they try to sell you AppleCare, walk up to one of the floor models that is connected to the Internet, show the salesperson the LA Computer Company website's low, low prices for AppleCare, and ask them to match it.

They did for me, though YMMV.

Hmm...my brother has a corporate discount and REALLY needs a new computer.

If you can double a corporate onto a Black Friday sale I might be able to convince him to buy a Mac today.

I voted positive.

This is real news so page 1 makes sense.

This is of interest to far more people than some news items, as many people shift purchases from November and December to black Friday to take advantage of the paultry 10% savings. Some people are just cheap.

Let's not forget the MacBook C2D and MacBookPro 17 C2D and Shuffle are at the beginning of their --available-- product cycles, so some people might have only shifted buying a couple of weeks on those items.

I doubt Apple will release sales figures so we can judge, but one thing is for sure. This black friday practice of Apple is widely known, there are for more stores now, and far more new, recent, and exciting products it applies to than ever before.

I suggest it just might rock!
