I've shared this before...

Someone close in my family works for Verifone.. they told me like 8 months ago that Apple was looking to acquire them. No bs. But think about it. That would make Apple a bank -- overnight -- hence leading to peer to peer and a instant presence possibly at every single retailer that has Verifone machines without Apple Pay..

Just saying...

Apple buying VeriFone would not make Apple a bank. Apple buying a merchant service company would be the nest way to go, somebody like Vantiv, or Heartland Payments.

Verifone only makes the card readers, which the retailer's software will control whether NFC is enabled or not anyway, coupled with who their MSP is. Also, Apple would be better off buying Square than Verifone.

I just love showing businesses that they support Apple Pay when they tell me no. Was in at the DMV and I saw the near field symbol so I told them to put the amount in and press go and then my phone saw it and paid it.
They all gathered around and were surprised and gleeful. My town lives in the dark ages. Usually like 10 years behind the rest of the country.
I do the same thing!

Ill stick with the square cash method, unless Apple just rips off that concept and bakes it into IOS. Nothing beats sending a Square Cash text message with money inside of it, or just telling Siri to send $$$ to ______ and just authenticating the transaction with touch ID. It would be nice to send over ApplePay funds via NFC touching two iphone together though, get on it Apple!

Apple Pay supports debit cards. At least, it does in Canada.

Yes but why a card at all? Why not just deduct what you spend from your bank account? May well be Apple Pay supports debit cards, but it only supports a certain type from certain banks. I'm not going to change bank just because Apple Pay doesn't support my bank (or the other way around). BTW Samsung Pay works for me ;)

I think it's the businesses and banks to blame for the slow roll out of Apple Pay. It's already been out for at least 2 years. Yet companies are refusing to offer the tech, this is not Apple problem. If my banks did not support Apple Pay, I would simply leave them and join another bank. There are way too many options to chose from.

Like I said on another post. If your banks refuse to support the tech that's been out for at least 2 years now. Simply switch banks, too many options out there not to have what you want.

I was just hoping I'd be able to stick all my loyalty cards in Apple Wallet without having to use individual apps like Target's Cartwheel and Best Buy's Reward Zone stuff. Store Credit Cards would be nice too but I understand why those aren't in there.

It is up to the store to implement this feature. When I go to Walgreens my Walgreens loyalty card/pass pops up on the screen, I use Touch ID to apply loyalty, then use Touch ID again to pay.

Apple has built the framework, it's up to business to follow and use it. Many business are plain lazy to do the work to implement their cards. What a shame.
