No thanks. My eyes hurt after glancing at that thing.

What I wish Apple would do is improve the sensors. I'm finding that at least once a week the Watch simply stops registering any workout activity, and I end up having to do a "Reset Calibration Data" and reboot of the Watch.

I get that Apple needs to be hip and trendy and has a very hip and trendy person running retail, hence the fashion touches with the Watch and whatnot... but this is a technology company which markets technology, first and foremost. If the tech can't work right, what good are the fashion accessories?

You're assuming that the problems you are having are a fault of the watch's design or technology. Is it annoying? Yes. Is it something you have to fix on periodic basis? Yes. Is the fault with the watch 100%? That's not entirely clear. When you calibrate, do you also wipe off the watch? Could sweat and dirt be a factor?

I'm not (yet) an Apple Watch user, so I don't have hands-on experience yet. It very well may be a flawed design, as you say.

It will grow and grow and grow to become an indispensable device at some point IMHO. Just wait.

I agree. The potential is unending. Think of the first iPhone to the current models. If you had a 3G iPhone now, you would say it was crap, but the progress till now is amazing, The watch is getting better and better every time. It works seamlessly with the phone (probably won't replace it - at least for some time). AW is doing things other smart watch companies can't...get people to buy it and talk about it. Hype is everything

The watch product seems a bit adrift these days, but it is actually a centerpiece for Siri, which is critical to HomeKit.

I also think it will be used with Apple Ride or (whatever their autonomous fleet experience will be called). For example, knowing that your kids got out of the car in front of the school.

I think the watch is valuable for AR applications as well, in helping collect data about daily habits such as what you do when you wake up and what needs to happen to get your day started.

It is much more than about health data, it is just that this is the most valuable and simple thing that requires no additional product integrations apart from iPhone.

I actually find the band, and the overall look, very attractive.. sexy even. Now the hardware & software of the watch need to get in line with its looks; $400 is asking a lot for a device that doesn't do much, relatively at least.

[doublepost=1492711341][/doublepost]i am a little bummed, finally caved and jumped on a nike model and yesterday was literally the last day i could have returned it, exact same damn thing when i upgraded to the jet black 7 and the next day the announce the (red) model, that i was fortunately enough able to return and get
Ask Apple. You might find an employee who is willing to bend the rules, especially if you tell them you're buying another watch.
[doublepost=1492714162][/doublepost]Love the band! I wonder how it would look on stainless steel?

the best thing about Apple watch is the ability to pair Bluetooth headphones and sync music on the watch for runs. It'd be hard to go to a watch without this feature.

Now if we they could just make the touchscreen work under wet/sweaty conditions.. this is the biggest gripe I have with the Watch for workouts

Agreed 100%. That's really all I use mine for - running with bluetooth headphones and music. So much better than strapping an iPhone and a heart rate monitor to my body and I wanted the heart rate/calories/distance/etc so an iPod wouldn't have worked.

Hmm, I actually like it. Guess I'm in the minority.

But I am broke, so please send me a free one Tim. Kthxbye.

Just charge $100 for the band and have it include a code to unlock the Nike faces and complications. IMO.

(Wants a SS watch with Nike face.)

Cool Apple, always comforting to know that your hard work is dedicated towards releasing products in different colors while my new 2016 MBP has to be repaired for the 3rd time.

It would be nice if a software update based on this lets me get rid of the yellow highlight features on my current Nike watch face

Nike is a lost company. Tim, who sits on the Nike board, needs to stop trying to make this work

Other than some interesting AW bands, nothing has come out of this broad effort

At least he has a pipeline.

Honestly, you should try a few runs with a Garmin Forerunner 630. You won't be saying the AW is perfect for running after that, you'll be saying why can't Apple make a watch that at least matches the Garmin app's stats. Apple needs to seriously up its game. AW is a toy compared to dedicated sport watches. AW has the capability. Apple just doesn't care enough to make the software. It prefers co-branding to true performance.

Why? Why blow hundreds upon hundreds more on a product you recommend when the OP is clearly happy with their choice? You paying for it? Thought not.

This looks sick. Would've definitely gotten it instead of the silver Nike watch with the gray/white band.

But yeah, like others have said, as long as you can run without a phone and listen to music through BT, that's golden in itself.
