Limited edition, ugh. So transparently wanna-be. Is there a product that's only a band, no watch? Like a bracelet? Whoa that would be the ultimate. I think I'd want mine in olive, though. Cheers!

Maybe dumb question: since this has GPS, does that mean you can use it to track a run without having to also carry around your iPhone?

Meh. When I see this, I am really happy to still have got my hands on one of the last watches with the volt green/black armband after Apple kicked out this model from their store. ;)

I am a pretty avid runner. Been running for years and at the moment training for my fourth marathon and I must say I disagree - yes the build in apps could be better regarding stats but they are pretty damn solid already and it's by far the best running buddy I've had (not counting my lovely dog)

I think that other forum member you quoted has a valid point and you're not seeing his view point if you have not used a Garmin 630 before. Garmin is more tuned for longe range runners with a much more reliable GPS and calibrating accurate statistics over the Apple Watch. I like my Apple Watch too, but Garmin seems to be more refined in the accuracy portion, where as the Apple Watch is a decent tracker with more stable OS. Also, to help you understand more of what was stated, I would suggest trying the Garmin 630 if applicable and then make an appropriate assessment. But both Watches are great in different facets.

Nike is a lost company. Tim, who sits on the Nike board, needs to stop trying to make this work

Other than some interesting AW bands, nothing has come out of this broad effort

Most profitable athletic company in the world. Number 3 on Forbes top 40 wth revenues eclipsing 24 billion over the last 5 years.

Sure they are "lost"

My experience is that the heart rate is extremely accurate. I just went for a stress test and ran for 20 minutes on a treadmill hooked up to their machine and Apple Watch was dead on from 69 beats all the way up to 170. The technician was surprised how accurate it was.

this really required a team up?

btw what great marketing apple did with the watch.

you still think these actors are still at apple after this photo op?

BTW the heart rate data and gps of the watch are very inaccurate compared to other watches. But some of you guys will believe otherwise. https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2016/02/apple-watch-review.html "BUT I LOVE MY APPLE WATCH!! APPLE IS THE BESTEST IN THE WORLD!!"

I bought the Nike watch for the band color (love the volt+black) and the watch faces, but the inability to remove the pointless (to me) Nike+ icon drives me nuts. I could put a usable app in place of it, but Nike has it locked down.

You're assuming that the problems you are having are a fault of the watch's design or technology. Is it annoying? Yes. Is it something you have to fix on periodic basis? Yes. Is the fault with the watch 100%? That's not entirely clear. When you calibrate, do you also wipe off the watch? Could sweat and dirt be a factor?

I'm not (yet) an Apple Watch user, so I don't have hands-on experience yet. It very well may be a flawed design, as you say.
I've had my series 0 since launch and I work with it on everyday. I've never seen this reset calibration data option and I've had my Watch down in buckets of tile grout many times. Just rinse it off and back to normal. I do wish I had got one with a harder screen, as mine(sport) looks like it has been through a wood chipper.

Still works better then when it was new.

I think Apple are barking up the wrong tree trying to promote the Apple watch 2 as a running watch. Pairing it with Nike doesn't really benefit either brand that much. It's a great smartwatch but for running it will never compete with Garmin, TomTom or Suunto. By trying to team up with Nike they are trying to pass the watch off as something it is not and will only disappoint customers who buy it primarily as a running watch. You can pick up a far more accurate running watch for a quarter the price of this. If you want a smart watch and go for an occasional run and aren't worried about your stats then the AW will be ideal for you.

Anyone who is seriously into running and considering this watch, I'd recommend having a look at DC Rainmaker's review of the AW2 in particular it's ability to track activities before you make your decision. He is the John Gruber of fitness trackers.

https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/02/apple-watch-series2-nike-edition-review.html

His youtube video also shows the ability of the AW2 to track pacing is horrific. Have a look at another review he did of a dedicated running watch below and you can see the difference.

That band is sick. I hope they release that as a standalone option (or hopefully a 3rd party band from Amazon)...

I want that cream Nike colored band.

that's awesome. wish it was out earlier when i got the first nike+. oh well, great watch, love using it and perfect for running.

Reminds me of an Oreo ice cream, maybe that's why I want to lick the screen.

Grrr love this setup colour match as well. Too bad I'm nowhere close to actually buying this Nike + in person as I just purchased Black and Anthracite. Still I love my Apple Watch it does what it's supposed to and expected to do.

Honestly, you should try a few runs with a Garmin Forerunner 630. You won't be saying the AW is perfect for running after that, you'll be saying why can't Apple make a watch that at least matches the Garmin app's stats. Apple needs to seriously up its game. AW is a toy compared to dedicated sport watches. AW has the capability. Apple just doesn't care enough to make the software. It prefers co-branding to true performance.

I think Co=Branding IS a smart choice, not only for fashion but for expertise. Garmin is great at what they do when it comes to watches + GPS. That said how many hard-core runners use Garmin vs Nike shoes - nationally, or globally? How much would you wager? ;) The amount of miles Nike has in their runners shoes vs Garmin could have apple in the lead.

As I recall, the earliest Garmin watches where not half as good as they are now.

I do strongly believe though that you're correct Apple MUST STEP UP their game! You'll see this occur when their own staff are more FIT and actually run daily vs growing pot bellies in the corporate office.

Apple staff, not actors lol.

Why? Why blow hundreds upon hundreds more on a product you recommend when the OP is clearly happy with their choice? You paying for it? Thought not.

My mom was happy with her SDTV. Does that mean she shouldn't try a HDTV? My point was that Apple is lagging in the running stats realm. Personally, yes I like to hear about new things and ideas even when I'm comfortable with what I have or know. It's called growth.

OP can try or not. I was just making a suggestion. It's up to him or her to decide what to try, buy, do in his or her life.

Not sure what your point is. I'm making a watch functionality to watch functionality comparison. Not sure how shoes figure in. Most runners buy the brand that fits their feet. For example I can't wear Nike shoes. I'm a Brooks and Mizuno guy. It's not about labels or brands, it's what my feet tell me. Asics were once my go-to but the toe box got to narrow. My point was Apple needs something more than the basic app they offer.

What an asinine analogy. I don't give a crap about your mother. I'm talking as one adult to I hope another. I've got a household to run; and I sure as hell have no time for third party disinformation campaigns encouraging me to squander my wealth on ``HDTV is better than SDTV'' product analogies. Spare me the bs.

This band looks interesting.
I love my Apple watch. It is really pushing me to train harder. Since I've got it I have been training almost everyday and keeping the pace or improving it.
I mostly swim.
My only with is one day Apple can come up with swim proof AirPods. That would be the perfect combo for swimmers.

I keep forgetting how ugly this thing actually is. They just need to start over with this and the trash can.

Tim is milking the Apple brand recklessly slapping that logo on anything that can make a buck

ok, I'll be honest, it is really ugly.and that's my natural, instinctual, visual opinion..but I'd say it's better looking than god awful standard nike ones.these things remind me of those ridiculous iPhone 5c cases..probably one of the ugliest things I've ever seen.
I think anyone can design a better looking product in just 2 hours.
