Born, raised, and live in the US.

You go where the talent and desire is.

- I rarely find spelling errors and the inability to clearly communicate on resumes from Indian developers.
- I rarely have foreign candidates turn down positions because they expect to make the same salary as other employees with tenure starting on day one.
- I rarely have foreign workers sitting at their desks with faces planted firmly in their Instagram accounts.
- I rarely have foreign workers regularly do the bare minimum just because "that's what I'm getting paid to do".

Shall I go on?

You want people like me to hire more US workers? Fix education and the attitude and I'll consider it.

So what you're saying is, you're part of the problem; the person hiring the foreign workers.

What are you talking about? Here in the greater Silicon Valley there's a shortage of qualified engineers. Every tech company I've worked for in the area hired H1-B engineers at the same wage (and benefits) as US citizens with engineering degrees.
Not true. I too have worked for a company where one of our offices was in Mountain View (not that location matters as there are tech companies everywhere making this claim), and the only reason they hired H1B was cost. Never because they could not find suitable fit from a citizen. Usually the person hired was under-qualified, and I was left having to work many hours because of it. It was this way in most of our offices. They never would hide this fact. Crazy thing was....I didn't even make any more then them. Maybe I was underpaid :(.

Edit: BTW...the company I worked for has been noted as being one of the largest offenders of the H1B Visa program.

Where are you going to find them? Too many self-absorbed millennials out in the wild who expect a six-figure income right out of university. Besides, that mobile phone they have glued to their faces 24/7 is expensive, along with Starbucks and vintage hipster clothing.

People from other countries come here and work at places like McDonald's. You know what they call it? Opportunity.

Entitlement babies created the market for foreign workers.

Except this is incorrect. The majority of these tech companies actually pay foreign workers less money than they'd pay an American (Huffpost of all places even agrees with this - Source). So, if the skills are so hard to get in America why not pay them what they're actually worth instead of undercutting?

Please keep spouting your ignorance though.

Great anecdote, but unless you're in HR with direct visibility into wages for all employees you can't say this with strong evidence.

I don’t know what garbage company you work for, but if I were you I’d be looking for another job. In the last twenty years I have never worked for a tech company that paid less for a foreign worker. Decent companies have defined pay ranges and you fall in them based on experience. In my last job, most of the foreign workers came in higher than their US counterparts because they had more experience in the role and were able to get through the technical questions without dropping to a fetal position in defeat like most of the sad crop available in this country.

As for the Huffington Puke — it’s a rag, not a reliable source of information. But I suspect someone like you probably believes whatever they throw at you, yes? If so, that would explain a lot.

But please keep spouting your ignorance based on your limited personal experience.

Oh you poor thing :-( Also, you must work at a small tech company because it's common knowledge among the bigger companies that this is a standard practice (and I've seen the #'s to believe it).

Here's more "qualified" links for you showing you testimony to Congress on this. Also, unless you are the HR business partner seeing the exact pay of all workers in comparison then you're statement is nothing but anecdote.

This one even touches on the Glassdoor study for you.

You did read the articles you linked, yes? Are you sure?

You millennials crack me up. Did your parents conjure up your little fantasy world for you in between telling you how special you are, or is this a result of the lib media telling you what to think?

Either way, I’m sure there was no effort on your part.
