I agree. There’s a lot of very angry people here. A shame they can’t just this once sit on the sidelines and honor Dr. King’s message and life.
I’ll honor the spirit of his message but I will not honor a thief and plagerist. No anger whatsoever.

Just pointing out the nausea inducing virtue signaling.

I'm certainly not an expert... But I think it has to do with many unhappy people feeling they have little power or success in their lives. And the opportunity to hate on someone or some entity, that is enjoying some success or doing something positive, provides a short-lived blip of power that's otherwise lacking.
Must be why the lefties respond to Trump the way they do.

Lincoln didn’t really end slavery. He supported abolitionists since they were on his side but he didn’t really know how to bring an end to slave labor completely. The Emacipation Proclamation was a bandage solution for states that left the Confederacy but it didn’t become law. The 13th Amendment was enacted after he passed.

I don’t see any iPhone XS on that landing page.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans died in a civil war. No slavery? No civil war.

No idea why lefties always try to minimize the role of slavery in the civil war. Are you that full of self loathing and hatred of white people?

We get it, whites are evil (especially the men). Let’s not twist history, though.

If Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. were alive to day, he probably wouldn't recognize himself. The rhetoric from the left and especially the right twists and turns what he stood for and why he was murdered (he didn't just die: "MLK died for us!" is such a nauseating statement!)

Few people reflect that for two centuries the Negro was enslaved, and robbed of any wages--potential accrued wealth which would have been the legacy of his descendants. All of America's wealth today could not adequately compensate its Negroes for his centuries of exploitation and humiliation. It is an economic fact that a program such as I propose would certainly cost far less than any computation of two centuries of unpaid wages plus accumulated interest. -- MLK, Why We Can't Wait

  1. I’m Black
  2. I don’t hate white people.
  3. Lincoln was in a time where the Republicans were the lefties (Pro-Moderation and Federal power).
  4. These are things that you should’ve learned in middle school. I’m not the one twisting history.

What has apple done for injustice? Apple is just name dropping, trying to associate themselves with MLK Jr. I'm surprised they didn't Photoshop in some white airpods.

I’m the latest person to be a racist or against diversity, etc. I just can’t stand that companies are exploiting those emotions for their own benefit. It’s to every person to accept everyone who isn’t doing harm, has other color or has different preferences. Stop exploiting those emotions for business reasons. It’s 2019.

Please mr Cook, put your energy in making sure your products are worth the price you’re selling them. Have them built and develop by companies who value those rights. Make your products the environmental in the industry. Set new standards. But don’t exploit those values to justify your prices. It’s hypocritical at its best.

Oh and MLKDay looks a lot like MILKINGday.

Your first 8 words are pretty accurately describing yourself. Well done!

Pfft, what does Tim Cook know about injustice, alienation, or minority rights? He grew up in '60s–'70s Alabama, a state that had anti-gay laws until 2000 ****ing 3. Life must've been a cake walk. Totally can't take him seriously.

I tend to be cynical about large companies doing bits like this, but the fact is they aren't doing any harm. And it's definitely not something to actually go and get mad about.

That's a good point about Tim's background too. It's also no harm for the world to see an LGBT person running one of the most valuable companies of all time.

Apple is skin color and “diversity” obsessed. Watch their adverts. MLK: “judge by the content of character and not by skin color.”

MLK would not approve of this diversity madness. Identity politics is toxic; if you (the general “you,” not this poster specifically) buy into it, you’re a simple minded fool.
They’re not diversity “obsessed”, they’re actually taking an initiative to do business by the content of people’s character instead of what the status quo has been, which was by the color of someone’s white skin. They’re leveling the playing field.

I agree identity politics is toxic. Identity politics has been the status quo for the last century. Identity politics is what has enabled the oppression of minority’s, stifled diversity, and given a platform to only simple-minded white Anglo Saxon Christians exclusively. I’m glad you realize it’s toxic.
