That's like saying the Mona Lisa should not go for more than the cost of the canvas and ink. You are forgetting the thousands of hours of labour that went into putting the book together.

The book is worth that much to the right people who understand how to appreciate a fine work of and Apple knows it.

1) There's no need to "plug-in" your iPhone. It's not an iPod from the last decade.
2) Why should Apple provide all that space to a single dedicated use old disk slot, that has no other use?
Same kind of person who cried when the dedicated floppy slot went away.
You people scream for "innovation" and then stomp and cry because you can't do things the same way you did them for the last 20 years, because Apple has moved forward.

1 - There is a need to plug in your phone if you wish to charge your phone and back up your phone, and use iTunes to manage your phone. Or you know, restore your phone. Not everyone uses iCloud. And if we are moving forward then why didn't the iPhone 7 come with USB-C?

2 - So it would have been a con in your opinion to include one USB3 port, a port that is not 20 years old and will continue to be used for the foreseeable future? A port apple still uses for their flagship iPhones and iPads? So instead of 4 Thunderbolt ports we would have gotten 3 and a USB3. Not too difficult.

And no one is screaming here but you. If the removal of USB ports is fine with you, that's great. Do allow others to share a different opinion.
 
Are you serious?? If it's a "corded mouse" why bother?
The entire unit itself is essentially a 'rechargeable battery' you plug it into an outlet to charge it (for 3 fkn minutes)
You want to have an opening somewhere along the smooth razor edge?? You know nothing of design (or even practicality).
Do you understand, it's not meant as a 'cordless-as-optional' device? It's purpose is not to use it plugged-in while you work at your computer; and then you can unplug it to take it on the road with you.
You want to use a mouse while it's plugged into your computer? Then use a mouse that plugs into your computer, genius. They cost about $5 at any drug / convenience store.
first of all, you don't need to tell me how much I undedstand design.

now let me educate you a little:
3 minute charge is just quick emergency charge to get you going,full charge takes hours and hours.

go read again what I wrote or consider checking your eyesight because I didn't say it should be functional as corded mouse,I said instead of that foolish design of charger cable port underneath they should have implemented it so that you don't need to reserse the mouse to charge it.maybe at front so in case if emergency user can still use the mouse while its charging.

See most people actually want to do serious important work with the iMac not everyone's a casual amateur facebook user,so functionality matters.

That design decision is just wrong,and no matter how much a naive blind fanboy jumps up and down to defend it,it's an awful design idea.

Infact there was no need to make built in batteries,it could simply use removable rechargeable batteries like the older version.

but then using fixed batteries and eventual need for replacing the whole mouse (buying new mouse) when battery depletes was probably a factor.

1) Why should we? We are talking about USB C ports on computers, not mobile devices.

2) There are always ramifications to every move we make. A USB port would have made things more convenient, at the expense of delaying the adoption of USB C. People are lazy by nature and if they could continue using USB A on their existing laptops, you can be sure they will continue to do so for as long as they can. Those USB C ports may as well not exist.

People are not wrong for wanting to value their own convenience and needs, but Apple doesn't just serve the needs of any one man, nor will they delay their vision to pander to the whims of any one man. Does the term "skating to where the puck will be" sound familiar? It doesn't just mean being able to accurately predict the future, but also influencing the current state of affairs to bring about the future you want to see.

That's precisely what Apple is doing here, and their willingness to incur the anger and dissatisfaction of their customer base in the short run is something I feel should be admired. Now that's the Apple I quit Windows for.

A great man once said that "You have to start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology. You can't start with the technology and then figure out how to sell it." That's the Apple that deserves to be admired. That's the Apple I quit Windows for.

The technology is here. The user experience that Apple wants people to have is out there. It's only a matter of whether people want to use it or not, and when.

You can't have a new world order without first doing away with the current one.

iOS blocked flash to promote the creation of native apps optimized for touch and direct input. Users were disadvantaged in the short run, but they benefited ultimately from better native apps.

When I switched to an iPad as my primary computing device, there were several workflows I had to relearn as the PC way of doing stuff did not always translate well to a tablet interface. I persevered, and am now more comfortable working from an iPad than a Mac for most tasks.

Apple is dropping all existing ports to push for the adoption of USB C. It may not pan out. People may simply end up using dongles till the end of time. But if someone doesn't take that first step, we will never progress. And Apple is in a better position to promote USB C than a scattered user base.

The transition will suck. There's no getting around it. How much is up to the individual user. I am not saying it won't suck. I am saying it will all be worth it in the end.
 
I think you missed the point. I have spent a lot of money on college books I barely used and did just fine in the class.

Precisely , so why bash anyone for choosing to spend money on something. Some people like to buy expensive cars when in the end a junker could still get you from point A to B.

If someone finds value in this kind of thing (many designers do) then WHO CARES!?

Let it go. Manufacturing is never coming back to the US. You guys priced yourselves out of the market decades ago.

You know ... there is a smart video made by students about 10 years ago at the height of "Office Space". The students directed and acted the video at the height of when USA and North American manufacturing and programming jobs where going overseas en masse to countries such as India as microsoft, oracle, etc made huge savings and layoff profits (yes profits from layoffs that reduced costs/losses you know the game)!

Funny the video ended with technical support for call centre jobs (the real focus of the video) where a single support lin went all the way to a serengeti in Africa. The phone rang on a tree stump in a field with a native in mock-traditional tribe markings answered the phone with a British accent. :)

makes me thing basically when jobs increase pay rates increase in smaller economies over time inflation rates incease, soon enough taste for better lifestyles increase, etc etc. Soon those markets too will price each outer out of the market soon they'll be no "cheap labour" or "vocational markets" left.
