Gets a bit boring when it's in the same place each year. Would be nice if the concert series were taken to some other iconic places around the world. Opera House in Sydney Australia is one interesting concert hall, Kammermusiksaal Philharmonie Berlin Germany and Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall Japan are interesting too. But there are many, many others around the world.

Time to break out of the routine, Apple!

Too bad you can only watch it with an Apple Music subscription.
Still not enough to get me to sign up for it.

"righto-o then chaps, lets all have a good time then ya"

Makes profits for Apple and more join Apple music just to watch for free..

Let's line up the usual and likely, boring suspects.

• Adele
• The Weeknd
• Taylor Swift
• SBTRKT

Maybe they'll toss in Drake to shake things up.
I wouldn't be surprised if U2 showed up too.

Anyone been to one? Is it worth the crack?

Surprised they hold it in the UK though

I compare it to the giveaways on Apple's 12 Days of Christmas app. Lots of stuff that is nominally popular but nothing you would ever want.

Unfortunately the Apple Music Festival is just boring now. As it is cut from 30 to 10 days, it only features what Apple considers 'hip artists'. By that they leave out most of their customers. When you listen to old recordings of it there were still talented people playing, in recent years the performances were more and more enhanced with technical gimmicks.

I went to see Pendulum, and Feeder in 2008. Free gig with lanyard with a 10 track gift card. I dont know if they do that anymore, what with changed on how they do music now.

I'm assuming Cannibal Corpse probably won't be headlining?

They've just finished Summer Slaughter, so they'll be resting :)

Decent mix in the past, lots of popular stuff, with some lesser names too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Music_Festival

I've not been - but a friend has. If you get to see someone you like - it's actually really good. The Roundhouse is much more intimate a venue than you'd normally get to see some of the these artists perform in.

Hope so, hope the get Steel Panther to headline, :)

But I guess it'll be hip-hop dominated.

Bad guess: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Music_Festival

Nope. Some of the biggest names in music, performing live, for free, in an iconic venue? Yet negativity, so sad. It's great if you're a fan of any of the acts - or even if not, you may see a good performance and have a fun night out with your mates. If not, move along and do something else with your time.

Just because it's 'London again' don't go thinking that all us UK residents swan into these gigs. I've applied for about 75% of al the gigs over the entire last ten years and haven't had even one ticket. I guess they all go to the VIPS, influencers and Appleratchiks.Hey ho.
I'm hoping that V2A get the gig (well, they are playing Wasteland Weekend) ;) That'd scare the ****e out of Camden! http://www.v2a.co.uk

Bad luck. Got three sets of tickets altogether. I think your guess is wrong.

I wish I cared as much about music as Apple seems to think everyone does, or as everyone actually does. I must be getting old.
They had Placido Domingo there the year before.

Not _quite_ the right places. Note they are picking the Roundhouse, and not the Royal Albert Hall. And what would be the chances of getting either of these places for ten full days? Royal Albert Hall expects to make > £300,000 from ticket sales on a sold out night. Renting the place for ten days would be £3,000,000 at least.

I've never had any luck applying for tickets but have enjoyed watching some of the shows over the years on the Apple TV. Pity it's now another exclusive for Apple Music customers as I've now got more chance of winning tickets than watching the broadcasts.

I just saw Samsung's logo all over the Olympics for the last two weeks. Being a "Worldwide Sponsor" of the Olympics is probably 50x more expensive than throwing a bunch of free concerts.

Indeed. According to this article, top-tier multi-year Olympic sponsorships (with Samsung featuring on the table, signed up through this year) run somewhere in the vicinity of $175-200m.

Thats just stupid money, right up there with owning an F1 team. At least a Formula One owner gets an entire season out of their $175m. Samsung only got two weeks out of that, and those were spots that progressively irritated people who were already upset over NBC overselling ad time.

This years line up is terrible. I wanted Lady Gaga to be on the line up for this years event as she's releasing a new album but no, she ain't attending :( I have applied for Britney Spears tickets but i know for a fact i won't win the tickets because i never have yet. I tried to get tickets to see Jessie J at Apple Music Festival back in 2014 but i never won the tickets :(
