My colleagues at Apple corporate have said it’s very much a heads down / don’t ask questions environment.
So much for the days of “think different”.
It’s more like “think the same” every year just update the existing chips/ other specs.
I mean, just look at their product designs in the last 17 years versus 2000 to 2010. Very sanitized and bland and unexciting.

Apple today announced that it will celebrate the company's 50th anniversary over the coming weeks, but it has yet to reveal any specific plans.
Apple was founded on April 1, 1976, so the company will turn 50 on April 1, 2026.
"While Apple is known for looking forward, this milestone offers a special moment to reflect on the journey that has brought the company here, to celebrate the people and communities who have thought different with us, and to honor the enduring values that continue to guide our work," said Apple, in a press release.
Apple said its celebrations will recognize the "creativity, innovation, and impact that people around the world have made possible with Apple technology."
"Thinking different has always been at the heart of Apple," said Apple CEO Tim Cook. "It's what has driven us to create products that empower people to express themselves, to connect, and to create something wonderful. As we celebrate 50 years, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey and who continues to inspire what comes next."
Cook also shared a "50 Years of Thinking Different" letter.
The letter touches on the upcoming 50th anniversary and says that "the world is moved forward by people who think different." For those unaware, "Think Different" was a famous advertising slogan used by Apple in the late 1990s to early 2000s.
"At Apple, we're more focused on building tomorrow than remembering yesterday," said Cook, in the letter. "But we couldn't let this milestone pass without thanking the millions of people who make Apple what it is today."
Apple also launched a new "Hello Apple" account on Instagram today.

No Tim, this is what YOU keep saying. Everybody else including your own staff constantly have to look back! All Apple ever does is look back. Even Apples own training looks back.
Apple is know for ALWAYS looking back. Even keeping Steve’s office the way it was when he passed.
Literally 1 new product so far this year,..everything else are just minor incremental updates.

Maybe they announce the folding iPhone this week to get ahead of the rumors?
Would be cool if they came out with a 50th anniversary edition of the Apple I.

Of course they do, that’s how they maximise profits.. although they aren’t getting anything from me with of those poor updated products

What did Apple do first? I'm genuinely not sure. I guess the App Store beat Android Market by a few months.

I'm an Apple fan - my first was an Apple II+ in 1982 or so. I've had the IIe, Mac classics, portable Mac (1991), Macbooks, iPads, iPhones, watches... going on 44 of the 50 years Apple has existed. But I don't think they've done much 'first'.
They've done lots of things 'better' for sure but almost nothing first.

Hopefully we’re past the originally rumored A17 Pro and get a A19 Pro instead.
I think smartphone should definitely be Yes, at least of the kind everyone expects today. iPhone had so many breakthroughs combined as to create a new category.
