So how are these better than Tiles? I love my tiles including my slim which fits in my wallet.
Hmm...lets see.. I've been using tile for 5+ years...they work 50% of the time, the other 50%, Tile is telling me I need to replace the tile I just bought yesterday.

Not to mention the unwanted "rings" of my phone because a tile got bumped, or looked at sideways.

User replaceable batter is a win. Yes tile has them too...and they work about half as often as the non-replaceable.

If airtags are even a marginal improvement, Tile will be dead to me.

AAAH HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAA!

Perfect for tracking one of my Mac Pro casters! 🤣

So this only works with a U1 chip?
Doesn't say that in the specs on Apple's site.

It states:
  • Phone and iPod touch models with iOS 14.5 or later
Mmm.

Curious how these will work without a cell connection? I put tile trackers on my dogs when we go camping and we're in an area with no service. With the tile trackers I can see if they're in range and make them alarm.
I'm hoping the airtags will work the same way without service. So I can see where they are, range and direction.

The main thing I use my tile for they don’t seem to have :( it is subscription on the tile but I mainly use it to alert me if I have become separated from something, I.e I have left my house keys in the office (which has happened more than once and I only found out an hour later when getting home… that is why I got the tile). Shame

40$ (34$ if bundle) for one Airtag and another 40$ for a holder..... total 80$ for one 😂 hard pass....

This is the price if you’re from Denmark.

Serious question: Do people lose their keys that much that you need to spend $29 on a device to keep track of them? Is this like a tax for careless people?
I feel like there are probably some clever automations that could be built if the Shortcuts app will be updated to include the FindMy necessary options

Seems like a definite win. Fair price. Seems better than other trackers.
Other trackers has a button within, so if you lose your phone for example, then double click on a tracker and your phone rings. Chipolo has this feature. And the button is usually configurable like for taking pics if your phone on a tripod. And Apple tags don’t have this...so not sure why this is better 🤷🏻‍♂️

Precision Finding is limited to iPhone 11/12. Not sure exactly what that means for us with older iPhones.

Probably not a great theft deterrent, even from an opportunistic thief, since apparently one can easily remove the battery to make it non functional. Unless of course you can hide the tag in the item or secure it so it can’t be opened.
