The idea the app store goes beyond $100 is not really logical for 99,999% of all users and for that reason I really think they should consider moving all apps above an extra layer of inconvenience to avoid errors, misuse, and scams.

Apple should allow app developers to do dynamic price changes and SALES. And yes, this means promo codes and "discount coupons" which is seen all the time at other app stores (.e.g Steam sales Mac games all the time, towards unbelievably low pricing, but the Mac App Store prices hardly ever deviate from their moronic MSRP pricing)

Apple today announced it is providing developers with an additional 700 price points for App Store apps, allowing apps to be priced as low as 29 cents, or as high as $10,000. Developers who want to price their app above $1,000 must submit a request to Apple.

I'm thinking any request for an app that's $1,000+ won't take long to get approved, and approval rate will be high.

$1,000 x 30%; $5,000 x 30%; $10,000 x 30% = $$$$ for doing mostly nothing on Apple's part.

The article says “App Store Apps” so this presumably applies to the Mac App Store, and there are most certainly apps that cost more than $1,000 for a license or annual subscription (AutoCAD and Maya are two notable examples that come close to $10,000 for a license and over $1,000 for an annual subscription). Truly pro apps are expensive.

Whether or not pro apps demanding that kind of fee would submit to Apple’s 30% cut to be on the App Store for Mac is a different matter…

... along with prices that begin with two repeating digits (such as ₩110,000 in South Korea.)
What's the purpose or significance of prices that begin with two repeating digits? Does that mean prices like ₩100,000, ₩120,000, & ₩130,000 aren't allowed, and can only be ₩110,000, ₩220,000, ₩330,000, etc?

Thinking this through, this now makes sense.

I could see a company that makes diagnostic equipment designing sensors which then either plug connect via bluetooth an iphone or an ipad. The diagnostic sensor would feed data to the iphone or ipad that would do the analysis and create a report.

Using the app store would allow the manufacturer to periodically push out updates to the diagnostic software.
