I write “PLEASE CHECK PHOTO ID” instead of a signature and NO one has asked for my ID in 5+ years...

But since people swipe their own credit cards in most places and use a pin or tap, the teller almost never handles a credit card now
Most places do fine but the US Postal Service offices will outright refuse if there's no signature on the card.

I like this card. It's a nice idea to further adoption of contactless payment. Sure, I have cards that offer similar or higher percentage back, but that's only if you use the physical card - the amount back goes down if you use Apple Pay. I wouldn't cancel my other cards but I'll definitely be looking into this.

I've never bothered to check if my cash back/rewards percentage changes if I'm using it physical vs Apple Pay. Is this a universal thing, or depends on the card?

This card actually sounds pretty good. 3% cash back on purchases from Apple and 2% everywhere else assuming I’m understanding correctly. No annual fees or international fees. This could be my new go to instead of my Citi DoubleCash Card.

Edit: post below mine says it’s 2% if using Apple Pay and 1% if using the physical card.

Merchants don't have to accept your card when you do that.
They don't have to accept your card at all. Even if you've signed it using your very best Sunday-go-to-meeting signature. If they don't want your business, they can escort you to the door.

They don't have to accept credit cards at all.

But Aldi (for example) which used to take only cash or debit cards --just a few years ago--now accepts credit cards and even Apple Pay.

No kidding. My reply was regarding his "please check photo ID" in the signature area.

Well I can’t see this coming to the U.K. given that a lot of credit card companies have shuttered or vastly reduced their cash back offers/rewards in light of the cap on Interchange fees.
