My heart barely survived the iPhone 6 preorder debacle. Not sure how the old ticker will hold up with this release. It could be the ultimate circus

With iPhone and iPad launches they have been fairly tied to the uptime of carrier sites. Because of upgrade availability and such.

Since Apple watch doesn't have that external dependency I think it will process orders much faster. Which means launch day orders will sell out in the first 15 minutes.

Within the first hour you will see 3 - 4 weeks shipping.

I don't see any mention of limits, that tells me the scalpers will REALLY be out. That really worries me :(

I think you are seriously under estimating the buying power of Apple customers.

I never thought of it this way. You are right. Apple probably has a good site crippled by other carriers.

My body (and credit card) are ready for the Apple Watch.

Still haven't decided between SS and the basic one though, but I'm definitely going 42mm.

On 4/10 when demand/sales is low, mysteriously the Apple site will show long wait for shipment & the launch date will be considered a success!!!

just like they faked it last quarter when you couldn't get an iPhone 6 and people made similar ridiculous statements that Apple purposely limited quantity, that is until they reported their earnings which revealed they sold the most phones in the history of the company and generated the largest single quarterly profit of any company in history.

Just because one of the rumors sites hasn't said there will be a limit does not at all mean there won't be a limit.

Computers to Apple's servers at midnight can be summed up in one gif...

We're not talking about a subsidized iPhone.
We're talking about an expensive iPhone accessory that does nothing other than provide iPhone updates to the watch... for now.

I'm getting two sport editions and putting them on ebay. They will likely pay for a third one, if I want it ....

Finally, an Watch thread for those actually interested in purchasing this new product as opposed to bashing it - tho I'm sure they'll show up soon enough.

Here's hoping they made a LOT of 42mm Space Grey Sports. ;)

Happy preordering, all!

I wonder how long it will take to get through in the first few hours? I'm sure their servers will be overloaded. :(

This could be bad. As bad as iPhone 6 preorders were, they were spread across multiple sellers. This time, ALL traffic is going directly to the Apple store.

How about reservation?

One question for all of you and expecially for MacRumors Staff: This means that i can take my reservation pass online on 10th and then pickup the watch on the 24th? Please pardon me for my terrible english, i’m a foreign student and i need this information because i want to pre-order the Apple Watch like the iPhone 6, with the Reservation Pass.

my fingers on the trigger for the 38mm Silver Alum White band...

Can we get a poll up on who's planning to preorder which, would be fun to see if theres a trend to a particular model.

Wow, based on all of the other Apple Watch stories in which posters had to keep sharing how they would not be buying one, I figured no one on this site wanted one. It is nice to see just about everyone in this thread is excited to buy one at midnight. Nice!

I wish Apple would just do some market research and figure up how much supply they need for each country, and then make each country have their own launch time during a reasonable part of the day. Make it 9pm eastern, 6pm pacific and stop annoying the hell out of your best customers.

That all out of the way, yeah there's no way I'm ordering this thing without trying it on first. I also want to see what the durability of the base model is. Hopefully we can get several good tests posted online in the first few days. I can deal with scratches on my current watch. But put a display under that scratched glass and yeah, no way that's going to work for me. Can you really not pick up the sport model from places like Best Buy? Otherwise I'll have to wait until late May, which is the next time I'll be near an Apple Store post-launch.

Nobody can answer my question?
