Always-on display, the watch forums will be dead now that complaint is negated.
Yes, of course. Similar to what Marques Brownlee pointed out with “memoji,” which worked even when you covered the FaceID apparatus with your finger, meaning it could work on any iPhone with a front-facing camera. But, of course, it was limited to the iPhone X.But if they did that, how would they get your money this Fall? It's a cash grab, plain and simple.
The goal isn't to entice S4 owners, it's to entice S0/S1/S2/S3 owners (and new customers, of course). No word on processor upgrades? Interesting. I doubt this will be enough to entice S4 owners.
On the 5 it gets you 18 hours of battery life (their figures) which I assume is also if you don't use any other apps, read texts, get alerts, make connections, sync apps, etc. So, "real world" battery life is likely to be a good few hours less. It’s pretty poor apple could not put this into the series 4. There are several watch faces that would take minimal power if they are always on. I’m kind of pissed since I got a series 4 only 4 months ago thinking Apple would implement this software wise..
Sure, if you want 4 hour battery life. They've switched to a different kind of screen that uses less power.I feel like they could just include this on Series 4 with a software update....
They're calling the processor an S5 with up to 2x the performance of the S3 in the Series 3. That compares to an S4 in the Series 4 with "up to 2x the performance of the S3".No word on processor upgrades? Interesting. I doubt this will be enough to entice S4 owners.
This is a terrible opinion. You should be ashamed to have expressed it publicly.Maybe if you wear this watch occasionally for fitness or workout it is fine, but for everyday watch it looks pathetic. Low on testosterone or menopausal design, form does not follow function, it should be circular, aod that is old news in galaxy watches. Come on apple, Steve Jobs should haunt you.
What else is new in the series 5?
Anyone have thoughts on the $199 Series 3? Not really in the market for a higher end fitness watch and was looking at fitbits with the new versa more expensive then this and the charge less expensive - this kinda just sneaks in there then.
Sorry if you didn't like my opinion, but I guess I am entitled to it even if it does not agree to yours. This is a terrible opinion. You should be ashamed to have expressed it publicly.
Claims 1000 nits, same as AW4. Go to the order page and scroll down to Tech Specs.I wonder how bright it is. I love the flashlight in the 4.
It wasn't just that you want a circular design--I disagree with that, but it's a matter of taste. But you had to flaunt some sexism in the expression of that opinion. What in the world does the design have to do with hormones?Sorry if you didn't like my opinion, but I guess I am entitled to it even if it does not agree to yours.
Sorry again you are right I should have re-phrase with a more tasteful words, though some men find it feminine design some women finds it masculine design, I wish they had the option in the design not one size fits all design, while circular is basic design of a watch, and there is always a way to achieve the impossible which Steve Jobs was good at doing. It wasn't just that you want a circular design--I disagree with that, but it's a matter of taste. And the current form does follow function for me. I use almost exclusively modular watch faces that would make no sense on a circular watch. Neither would the Exercise app display as efficiently on a round watch. For me, the Watch is all about presenting information.
tbis watch face on my series 4 on OLED would not take much power. Upwards of 80% of the screen is off here..Sure, if you want 4 hour battery life. They've switched to a different kind of screen that uses less power.
... is it that you have low testosterone levels and need external devices to provide it for you? The Apple Watch certainly doesn't need nor provide testosterone. Similarly, watches do not experience menopause. What are you on about?Low on testosterone or menopausal design, form does not follow function, it should be circular, aod that is old news in galaxy watches.
Sorry really my bad for such a mention.... is it that you have low testosterone levels and need external devices to provide it for you? The Apple Watch certainly doesn't need nor provide testosterone. Similarly, watches do not experience menopause. What are you on about?
Should be circular? Since when? For decades, watches had mechanical mechanisms with rotating hands that dictated mostly circular cases. That requirement is outdated. Smart watches present information, which fits better on a rectangular screen. Round is the exact opposite of "form follows function" for a smart watch - it's being round to be familiar to those who can't cope with a rectangular watch.
If galaxy watches suit you better, no one is stopping you from buying one.
