Why not? Would that harm you in any way?

Possibly, if only in a roundabout way as an end user. In their zeal to promote the iPhone, Apple seems to be increasingly leaving the Mac and OS X by the wayside. Despite more developers buying Macs to engage in a frenzy of iPhone app development, and the fact that the development tools for both iPhone and Mac are sitting right there in front of them as a result (with not even much difference between the two), the Mac software market doesn't seem to be experiencing much growth. I don't think it'd kill Apple to pimp the Mac a little more than they're doing now. Besides, I think Snow Leopard's internal advancements open up an opportunity to really push the Mac platform forward.

devs!

I guess the only updates iPhone will be getting are internal - I can't see them using an image of the current unit if anything were to change. But my predictions are usually horribly off. I guess they could surprise with a metal back.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Hopefully you're wrong though.

:D

74 days left!!!

i think they will do an ichat with him, as a surprise guest.

That would be interesting and very fun! Especially if they announced a new product with an iSight and demoed iChat with it and he was the person on the other end!

P.S. -

But nobody's counting, right?:p

So early June means no Steve Jobs, right?:(
I predict Snow Leopard, 32GB iPhone, new iPhone, and iPhone OS 3.0 (full release).
Also we will most likely see something else like a netbook, tablet, or possibly the xMac (even though it's unlikely).

Does anybody notice the purple app icon in the Dock instead of the green Phone app icon on the iPhone 3G?

Barbie.

If that isn't a hilariously complex justification to expect a videoconferencing iPhone this June, I dunno what is. :D Rock on!

Steve: I want you to have videoconferencing up and running on the new iPhone hardware by this June, Phil.

Phil: Why, Steve — so we can get millions of iPhone users hooked on video chat and drive the advancement of high-bandwidth cell networks?

Steve: How the hell long have you been working with me, Phil? I want you to demo it on stage with me as my big comeback! Yeesh.

LMAO... Hell YES!!

Begin the longest 74 days of your life! :D

I'm already in line outside the North Michigan Ave Apple store!

No! Steve should come alone! I want him there. Without out the company of Phil, also known as the guy who screwed us over at CrapWorld '09.

Now now, Phil wasn't the guy who decided what Apple would and would not have ready to introduce at the expo. And besides, Phil has been helping out in Steve's keynotes for years and years. Just look through some of the Macworld and WWDC keynotes up on YouTube.

Edit: I just noticed the bold in your quote and realized you were talking specifically about the comeback part. However, it'd be just as cool in my mind if Steve strolled on-stage as they were hanging up. Rock-star-esque uproar from the crowd, etc. It'd be sort of like easing us back from Steveless keynotes into Steve running the show again.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him there and agree with some people on here that it would be somewhat of an epic coming back appearance.

SAVE ME A SPOT!!

I think the guy behind me would mind, though. Oh wait.......... are ragged clothes in style now?.......... oh never mind, he's a hobo!

Someone just threw a quarter in my Starbucks cup!

What would be cool is if it went like this.

Announcer: Now to present the keynote, I give you Phil Schiller!

Crowd: .........

Steve Jobs: *Walks on stage*

Crowd: Huge applause and roar for ten minutes!

OR

Announcer: Now to present the keynote, I give you Phil Schiller!

Phil Schiller: *Walks on stage* "Thank you all for joining us. We are excited to see many developers and peers come out in praise of iPhone OS and Mac OS X. Now I but some of you are wondering what I meant by "us" and "we." Let me elaborate for you. I now present to you the CEO of Apple. inc! Mr. Steve Jobs everyone!!!"

Steve Jobs: *Walks on stage*

Crowd: Huge applause and roar for ten minutes!

Steve Jobs: "Thank you! Thank you! Now onto my health! I am fine. I'm not going to die. I will remain with your as CEO and a part of Apple for as long as I live. I am very exited to have Phil and I talk to you about iPhone OS 3.0, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server, and [insert insanely cool new Apple gadget here; such as the xMac, Apple Tablet, or Apple netbook]."

I prefer the second situation. Except I would like the [insert insanely cool new Apple gadget here; such as the xMac, Apple Tablet, or Apple netbook] to not be announced until last and in the mean time they can refer to it as "something special."
Btw, I almost cried while typing up this post..

but how wrong you are. notice that the top of the phone, where a front facing camera would be ideally placed is cropped off, you cant even see the earpiece. so it could be a "hahaha look what we are showing you and you dont even know about it" kinda thing. and plus the back will most likely be changed in someway.
