Apple Announces Digital-Only Event Set to Be Held September 15

It's normal to compartmentalize sensitive information. So the staff running the Twitter account don't have the full picture.
For the late summer / early fall period, if there is a second event in October, Apple typically does not announce it until after the first event in September.
The site would need to be live for a couple of weeks afterwards anyways for all the articles to refer to.
Like when they leaked that misterious wireless charger, they were wrong!

It’s not like he tried to say “well actually when I said new hardware I meant via the event that was announced so I was right really”, he just pointed out what he was correct on and what he wasn’t.

Not really from a marketing standpoint, especially when you won't have things expire exactly on the date it is finished to give it more time to spread itself on media platforms. Thus when you consider the fact that after the event, the news media and everyone will be talking about it for the rest of the month, it's a great tool to gain free media for them.
Yeah I agree. Not to mention his attitude is poor, and his lack of integrity to admit he's absolutely wrong with the schedule he claimed to be "real" for more than a month.
Like seriously? Not a single product release today, his entire release dates prediction is wrong, and JP is still insisting he's correct because "there really is a press release".

You jest, but just to nitpick, that brushed Apple logo is distinctly 2D. As you know, Aqua is 3D.Return of aqua!
I remember saying that “Apple will do a thing in the future” once. Someone else posted something similar here yesterday, I’ll see if I can find the post. So, I guess we all get a little credit, like a participation trophy!

It's for the publishers. A lot of them will likely get hands on time locally and will also have to set aside time for their teams to push out media.
