Roger that. The issue is, at launch it's just going to be a bit of a gimmick for most pro users because their third-party Mac plugins will be unavailable. That's why the asterisk is required. All the people you saw in the Apple promotion video are fake AF. Instead of being overawed that they can draw automation with a pencil and sample wineglass-ring in Alchemy, the first thing pro users would asking is OK but how do I get access to my Waves/Izotope/FabFilter/Kontact...The roundtrip description only refers to whether or not the files can be created on one, edited on the other, then edited again on the first one transparently, and that’s what Apple IS saying about Logic specifically but not about FCP. No asterisk required.
It's kind of like Apple saying a Transit van is the same as a 42 ton semitruck*
*providing you don't need to shift a bigger load than can be fitted in a Transit van.
