Prediction:
We know that M-series Macs run iPadOS apps. It would then make sense that anyone with a subscription to the iPad version of Final Cut Pro and Logic will be able to run their apps on their Mac.
Where does that leave the desktop apps? We already know that these apps were redesigned and are missing some of the more complex features and plugins – like colour grading for Final Cut for example. That leaves them, for now, as a more pro version, but as Apple dedicates time to their new iPad versions, they'll get up to par and become the new desktop apps, on subscription.
I bought the full version and I'm not going to complain. I love that Apple is dedicated to pro apps again and will subscribe. If that means that the desktop version that I purchased reaches the end of its line for updates in a couple of years, I'm ok with that. We got over a decade of updates on one price, whereas Final Cut 7 and the versions before that were all paid upgrades.
Can't wait for the apps to land in a week.
