Is this only available in the dev beta? Been thinking of upgrading my storage. With these new features it’s a no brainer.

Yeah, as the features require iOS 15 (other the other new OS for iPad, Mac).

Where are more infos for this? Just migrated from GSuite to iCloud. This could avoid mail forwarding from my primary domain

Have they worked out how to combine my two Apple IDs into one yet? I have an Apple ID used to buy music and then Apps on an iPod and then a @me.com one when that was launched. It's always been inconvenient, but as more are more gets tied into iCloud, having two Apple IDs is a real pain. Why can't I migrate the purchases on my original Apple ID onto my @me.com/icloud.com ID?
So agree! Years of excuses as if they can’t handle merging database fields. My iTunes account is so old it’s login is attached to a non existent email address.

The 50GB data is probably geared more towards individuals. I have 2TB with Apple One and still haven't gone over 50GB, which I've been using for about 5 years now. I just don't shoot many photos/videos. I have archived all my family photos and have taken a few 1080p videos at concerts. My photo library takes up the bulk of my space at around 35GB, and my iPhone backup uses around 2GB (for a 256GB phone). I also have an iPad backed up to the cloud.

For $0.99, and now with new features being added at no additional cost, I can see plenty of individuals getting by on that. I do agree that its not very competitive though, as far as storage alone goes. The new features announced make it much more appealing though.

I already found my first casualty with iCloud Private Relay - It appears that Lowes.com is really not a fan, I can browse for a couple pages and then get "Access Denied".

Looks like you need to disable Private Relay in the following: iCloud Settings, Safari, Cellular (per cell plan!) - now that appears in and of itself to be bugged because it doesn't seem to stay off at an iCloud Settings level. A device reboot (or respring) and it comes back on.

Lowes.com works for me with private relay turned on.

Indeed. It is a constant hell not being able to merge 2 Apple IDs.
By all means, send Apple the feedback. I sure have — not that it has moved the needle whatsoever.

Is Private Relay offering anything different than Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 with the free Warp VPN enabled?

That's how all VPNs are for some sites unfortunately. Hopefully Apple adds whitelisting functionality.

Is there a setting where I can get more granular control? I’m not a Luddite and I am fairly technical. But maybe I’m missing it somewhere? But I’d love to take advantage of this feature while not losing some websites and even services functionality.

Also, in iPadOS and iOS it seems to be just an on or off toggle. I just wanted to get some feedback and make certain I didn’t miss something.

They have not. I spoke w Apple Support about this recently as I too am in the same situation. It makes no sense why they can’t migrate our old IDs to the new ID.

So, Safari only VPN? You can get a device wide VPN for free from ProtonVPN. What a twisted way of doing things.

I don't know what people are storing up there, but 5GB is an enormous size even for free. The only way I see they should give more for free is for complete device backup so that is an extra benefit for buying an Apple product, you can backup your whole device and restore it from the cloud.

50GB is a lot, what are you people storing that much in the cloud? Thats enough for 12 HD movies or 10K pictures. If you want that much storage the $36 per year for 200GB seems quite a bargain.
I believe it's network connection wide since there is a check box in network settings for enabling "Use iCloud Private Relay" in the betas of macOS Monterey and iOS 15.
