Because apple is pushing esim adoption ,and forcing the carriers to use it moreWhy are they selling no sim tray as a feature? Wtf
It's a mature product now. When stuff is more new, innovation tends to come at a much quicker pace.Honestly, like, not even kidding : remember 2007, 2008, 2009 when new iPhones really were better?
This isn’t a work from home issue… if anything it’s a NO WORK lockdown issue across Chinese R&D and manufacturing plants. That will not change anytime soon.It seems like corona work from home had a big delay on hardware - only now are we suffering from this „barely anything changed“ when nobody worked on this stuff
Who uses those now a days? Why are they selling no sim tray as a feature? Wtf
Not all countries fully rolled out eSIM yet.Who uses those now a days?
Agreed. This is a no go for me. The country I work in, outside the US, doesn’t have esim options. I still require a phone with a SIM card tray.I really hope the Pro's come with a SIM tray. If not, Apple just basically made it impossible to not pay for carrier activation fees. Funny how they said only U.S. models will lose the SIM tray
A lot of folks said the same thing about the lack of a headphone jack.No physical SIM is a deal breaker
To be fair it’s been this way for years. Apples the only company that can get away with this stuff. I do think one of the biggest offenders was the iPhone 6s when the big change was… Live Photos. I software feature hardware locked to the newest phones. I believe 3D touch was lumped in there too, and you know what happened to that feature. It seems like corona work from home had a big delay on hardware - only now are we suffering from this „barely anything changed“ when nobody worked on this stuff
