Apple Announces iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus With New Satellite Connectivity, Better Cameras, and More

The only true upgrade here is a bigger screen phone at a less than Pro price.
Also they should have called the 5 core GPU A15, A15x just like before when the phone chip was added extra graphics for the iPad. That way it would be easy to convey it's a bit of an upgrade as most on the surface are just going to think it's the exact same chip as before. They also could've mentioned (if rumours true) the 50% increase in RAM although gsmarena currently unofficially claims it's still 4GB.

Agreed, it’s like we’re regressing backwards. I’ve had Verizon as my carrier since I first got a cell phone and I remember the days when I had to call Verizon to activate a new phone. Biggest pain in the rear ever. It was such a welcome change when, with LTE, Verizon finally adopted Sim cards and all I had to do was move the card from phone to phone. Now, you’re telling me we’re going back to the dark days?! I’ll tell you, any manufacturer that dropped the physical SIM card tray it’s just asking to lose my business.
Not surprised. I'm more surprised that it's "important enough" that they'll include 2 years of service for free, but not "important enough" to activate this capable satellite hardware in the iPhone 13 models.
I'm really stupified at the cost of the satellite connectivity.

Another announcement, and another pass. Zero reasons to upgrade from my 12 Pro Max until they actually announce something innovative and different. Not even getting rid of the notch. There are Chinese knockoffs that even manage to do the pill shape ahead of Apple lol. God you are boring Apple. “This” close to getting a Galaxy Flip like my wife. The stuff she can do with her phone makes me envious daily. How about you skip a year Apple, unless you actually have something worth announcing? Zzzzzzzz

Will the camera improvements (low light algorithm, stabilization, etc.) that rely on the A15 Bionic in the 14 be carried over to the 13 Pro that has the same chip? Not talking about the physical camera lenses, just the software / processing improvements.
S cycle phones previously received a new chip (and S cycle chip updates were usually bigger upgrades than non S cycle). This is basically the same phone with some modest camera updates.
