doesn't seem like it, i think i saw a slide when they were talking about A18 Pro that mentioned the chip enabled USB 3.0 speeds, so this is prob still USB 2
From the iPhone 16 tech spec
  • USB-C connector with support for:
  • Charging
  • DisplayPort
  • USB 2 (up to 480Mb/s)

The iPhone Pro tech spec says
  • USB-C connector with support for:

  • USB 3 (up to 10Gb/s)17

I learned to never take video in landscape on an iPhone years ago b/c it never plays back right on other devices or when shared. Did something change in the last 5-7 years?
That is odd. Videos, whether landscape or portrait have always worked well for me when sharing.

The new iPhones are good. Very happy to see that colours are brighter this year. Pink looks very good.

Still no 120hz? At this point this is embarrassing.
what is that? Why do I need it? Does it make NFC payments faster? Messages sent faster? Does Youtube video look better? I know, I get that for whatever reason people keep asking this, and it is old tech that should be included. But I have never ever noticed I need it or miss it. I would prefer the savings apple makes in not including this in the iPhone would be passed to us as a discount on the phone..
I respectfully disagree.

The likes of Samsung and Google have models that are taking exciting risks and adding exciting features. Apple is taking it painfully slow. Foldables, just as one example, have been released for over 5 years, now. I miss the risks, I miss the exciting features, and I miss excitement. Colors and slightly better cameras just aren't enticing me any longer.

I used to upgrade my iPhone, most regularly, for new and exciting features.
Now, I upgrade my iPhones when my battery starts to degrade.

Just my $0.02
I never seen a need to update my iPhone regulary (had original > then 4s > 5s> now combination of Xs and 11Pro). When they were introduced, it was fine, a lot of new things came out. But now - just a small updates here and there. Only reason to upgrade is the new battery..

But you are right on the risk part. It used to be more fun and exciting. I think they are just too big and do not want to upset the market and its shareholders.. Would be cool to see them go private. I would expect much more bold moves from them. :)

I hope to be proven wrong but I think the camera button will be less used than it's been hyped up to be, just as the action button was and then everyone forgot about it. Most people take pictures in portrait mode, and the capture button seems to be at a bad position for taking pictures that way. If you hold the phone in landscape then your thumb already rests where the software capture button is. Hopefully will force people to shoot video in landscape.
I totally agree. This just shows how Apple has gone backwards in terms of user experience.

Not to sound so negative, but these Apple Events get less and less exciting every year. I wish something new and exciting would happen like it used to be.
I think the biggest issue here, it's all pre-recorded, and i hate it how fake everyone looks and acts. Always loved how they introduced new features live on stage. But now it's just like watching a commercial on TV

I’ve been hearing Apple doesn’t innovate for 10 years and somehow they keep selling successful phones. I don’t know how they do it…
Because they're still better than competition. Which says a lot about phone markets in general...

They should've left the zoom feature around the button like where it always was, and have focus only option on the new action button.

At this point it’s nefarious.
Because there is literally a single assembly line on this planet earth making 60hz OLED panels. And it’s for Apple.
Apple is going out of its way to keep these produced because they know the amount they make forcing people into a higher tier phone outweighs the cost of having the screens made.

They do not software lock the displays at 60hz.

The panel is literally built with the limitation.

Is it me or didn’t apples stock drop almost 5% while the new pro model was unveiled?

We just got a new set of iPhone 11SSSSS and people are here acting as if they changed the shape of the wheel.
Aren’t all of you tired of this stagnation under Tim Cooke?

Apple is on track to loose 20% of its market share by the end of the year.
Android is leveling out and they are producing very competitive devices.

Apple keeps making bigger heavier phone. And the whole additive of young people using android is shifting massively.

How do you sell someone something new when they quite literally bought what you’re trying to sell them now, last year…. And the year before.

Apple just unveiled new AirPods 4.
And tote “ ANC in an open ear form factor “
Yet that feature is a $50 upgrade. 😂🤣 cmon.

I know investors are getting yawned.

For a phone, I genuinely don't now what the advantage is of a 60hz panel over a 120hz panel. Could you please explain the advantage?

That would be wild, if true. It's interesting, that even the most budget phones come with 120 Hz displays. So maybe it's not that far-fetched?
Apple would pee on its own foot if it ment the consumer would have to buy a pair of water proof boots over their open toed economy design.

Like the new colors; pink will sell like hotcakes.
I think you're right, but it doesn't seem to be getting that much love around here, only a couple of us in the US iPhone 16 thread are excited about it, and in the UK iPhone 16 thread which has a poll attached, two people selected a plus in pink out of almost 400 votes. Even among the tech bloggers, only Justine is super excited about it and that's probably going to do the trick, once influencers get the word out, then it'll start to sell like hotcakes. The pink iPad is a bestseller and that shade is nowhere near the perfect bubblegum color of the iPhone 16. Moral of the story: get your pink phone while you can, especially if ordering from a carrier, they always seem to run out of the hot colors.

Just you.
I’m an Apple investor and I’ve lost about $67,000 since the moment of the pro announcement. You think it’s funny, but I doubt you even have a penny in pampers stock.

Go look at what Apple stock has done since the announcement. This is a disaster.

It isn’t good. It’s down almost 8%.

I don't concern myself with small swings in my portfolio like that. My portfolio does just fine in the longer-term horizon, but thanks for your concern!
