Because I own 2 Macs. This is MacRumors. Not iPhoneRumors.

That's fine... But GTFO of this thread! Not one of your posts in this thread has been constructive...

There are threads for the reception issues, go post over there, this is about SALES.

Well done Apple, I believe its only due to the popularity of the phone that the reception issue has been blown out of proportion. You can add 1 to your list once you release in AU as well, along with many others id say. :)

It does drop the call!!! Since owning the iP4, I have had a total of 6 dropped calls.

I NEVER had any dropped calls with the iP2G, 3G or 3GS on O2_UK.

Jesus Christ. I hate lazy people. It's an iPhone 4. Not an iP4 or any other stupid name. I thought the morons that said iTouch were annoying. This is even more retarded.

I believe WorldWideWeb.MacintoshRumors.commercial is that way --->

iPhone4 - 77% = repeat customer
Google - 160,000 Android Phones Sold Per Day

2010 Smartphone Market by Platform [Estimate on June 28, 2010]

1. Symbian [73 Million]
2. Android [58 Million]
3. Blackberry [46 Million]
4. iPhone OS [35 Million]
5. Windows Mobile 6.5 [8.5 Million]

What's the big deal?

Again ONLY focusing on USA which is NOT the biggest country in the world and this is NOT the highest revenue/profit per unit sold for Apple, its international sales. Even here in Canada with the CAN$ at 96 cents US$ for the past several months we're paying almost $75 MORE past equivalency than those in the USA when its available.

There is a BIG reason why Apple will be shipping to a tune of 81 countries by end of summer.

Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network Settings

Its that easy to fix the reception issue. Mine did it for the first few minutes of owning the phone, followed this procedure and it has been perfectly fine since. Fandroids love to find faults in the one phone that has continously dominated...

I like many others pick a product mostly because it suits my needs/wants - nothing being perfect but this is close to it for most.

If you're referring to the iphone ... "the one phone that has continously dominated" where do you come UP with this *****?! What market has the iPhone dominated in?! The USA market? The World market? Canadian, Italian, United Kingdom, Chinese, Japanese, etc markets?! NONE it hasn't dominated in ANYTHING except for profit per unit due to the low costs per unit.

Do you expect everything to be perfect? Things have bugs. What if VW recalled your car because of a defective part? Are you going to give VW the same level of criticism and say your car was not a success because VW released a defective product?
I don't expect things to be perfect. But if VW recalled my car because of a defective part, I would absolutely give that company the same level of criticism and say my car is not a success.

There's a reason why Toyota's image is marred forever; something like brake failure should never pass QC. The same with this reception issue on the iphone 4.

i hate when people don't write out 'it is'

look fanboy relax. there is enough ip4 fanboy love for everyone.

Well, no.

If you look at sales by handset model, nothing touches the iPhone. Using data from the 3GS, you can see here: http://techcrunch.com/2010/05/19/iphone-android-25-percent/

Unless well over one third of all Symbian/Maemo sales are a single model (and they're not), the iPhone is by volume the best-selling smartphone handset in the world. I don't know what "dominated" is or what you're even arguing, but it doesn't reflect well on one's sanity to deny the iPhone's achievements. It seems to me that you're arguing brand sales rather than unit sales, which is why someone saying the F-150 is the best-selling vehicle in the US can be right even if Ford isn't the top-selling brand.

And I say this as a happy Blackberry user (who has never owned a Ford, either).
except for profit per unit due to the low costs per unit.
The Nexus One BOM is about $170. It sells for $579. Reporting on BOM and Apple is a dangerous combination and the easy target of the ignorant. It's not news that the BOM is half or less of the sticker price of an electronic device--unless it's Apple, then it's gripe-worthy.

Hmm, is that really their most successful product launch in sheer numbers? It only went on sale in 5 countries. You'd think that something like, I dunno, the iPod Nano which was released in 50-60 countries simultaneously and was considerably cheaper, would've done better than this limited release...

So... you're on the internet and you hate abbreviations and acronyms?
GLWT... Personally I'm surprised that people take the time to spell out "iP4", I would've thought they would shorten it to just "4".

I'd be more forgiving of VW if they actually issued a fix, rather than the CEO say "Non issue, try driving it a different way" ;)

now think what if apple includes a phone iPod touch (with out 3G and data plan) for $300? ( $0 for 2 years contract)

and of course, the first step is to goto T-Mobile (2011) and Verizon (2012) :D

I think the latter is more possible and when that happens, other smartphones are doomed :D

The EVO numbers aren’t actually published, but analysts are saying about 150,000. That’s in line with the statement that Sprint did publish, although again they didn’t put the actual number in there (just that it was in line with the combined Palm Pre and Samsung Instinct sales, and their largest launch ever).

150,000.

Compared to 1.7 million.

Wow, they’re sure proud of that, aren’t they?

jW

I thought that 77% or so were just you guys buying the iPhone again right? If you take that number out its like 390K. Not that big a relative leap in terms of new business no?

Imagine if MS were able to coerce XP users (63% market share) to buy Windows again - W7@~12% market share, while Vista remains at 15%.

A 77% upgrade rate would be pretty darn good, in this respect.

In terms of cashflow, but not in terms of marketshare.
