Ugh. ugly back.
I'm truly surprised at how ugly it looks.

Oh sure, I guess it could be worse, but not by much. The two tone look seems like whoever's responsible was confused, or maybe it was their first design.

It's even harder to believe that this got past J. Ive.

About the only thing I can think of was Apple pulled him off the iPhone to do something else.

Perhaps next year he will create a fantastic design, just like the ones he's famous for.

Most everyone around me was also in disbelief. The iPhone 5 is the only product in Apples line that's so ugly. Yet there's lots of good news. Case makers will offer vast numbers like usual, it will be easy to hide that ugly back.

I am happy with the iPhone 5 and plan to order on Friday. People complaining about a lack of any great new feature need to understand there is only so much that can be added. The reason the iPhone 4 was such a huge jump was because the 3GS lacked a lot in terms of design and specs.

My S3 is way better.. i get to switch out my batteries when 1 dies down.. i get to overclock it on root, change roms, do whatever i want with the phone, no limits,

Good for you ,glad your happy with your Samsung phone :)

I really have no idea how some of you guys think this phone looks ugly....I think it's stunning, the black one looks especially slick.

But I digress, I guess we'll have to wait until this thing is shipped to see what "A6" really means?

I always used the bumper, precisely NOT to hide the stunning glass back....and that is also how Steve advertised the bumper when it first came out. I wonder what he would think of the two-tone...

Apple's idiotic idea that you can only double (or quadruple) the pixel dimensions have really put them in a tough spot./QUOTE]

You know how Android apps kind of mostly suck outside of a few first party titles, some games and a few other things here and there? You know how the iOS version of Apps come out first or only? The reason for that is Apple makes it very easy on developers, we get methodical, consistent changes that require asset updating about every 2 years. Android is a mess of epic proportions that requires asset development in a sort of lowest common denominator. When I have to support Android I have to in a way that anticipates thousands upon thousand of screen sizes and resolutions. Android I have to make sweat pants with an elastic waste band, iOS I can create tailored suits.

I guarantee most users care about stunning apps on a 4" screen more than mediocre apps on a 4.3" or 5" screen.

More pics of the white??????

thrilled

I personally like teh fact that apple focuses on the fit and
finish and not just try to make the largest phone on the planet
I was playing with my friends galaxy s3 and it feels like a plastic toy
and even though I have large hands( And yes thats true also) it feels clumsy
and cheap.
here of some facts:

Galaxy s3 133 grams, 8.6 mm thick display 306ppi

iPhone 5 112 grams, 7.6mm thick, display 326 ppi

so the iPhone 5 is made of much better materials, 20% lighter, 12% thinner,
no operating system fragmentation I think the choice is easy.

Plus I like to buy the original not the copy

It's going to be called the iPhone 6, you foo...oh, wait... :D

Goodbye, fair 3GS. You've been a good phone and will make a great iPod for my son. Time for Daddy to finally upgrade.

I want to be more excited, but I'm just not. It's nice looking, and LTE is great and all, but...

Probably a combination of too much leaked info, general satisfaction with my i4, and lack of really impressive camera features.

Also, hate that the phone jack is now on the bottom.

No new Imac? No ipad mini....

I'm very disappointed not to see even a quiet update on Apple's site for a new iMac. I thought they were waiting so long (now over 13 months since an update instead of the usual 9) to come out w/ a Retina display model or something. My iMac is over 5 years old and I need a new one - not buying one that's over a year old, though!

Too bad the Samsung software update is ridiculous and completely sucks.

Come on nOw

It's a spec bump

Nothing remarkable

Hate to break it to you, the way things are going all phones from here on out are going to be spec bumps. What do we really expect it to do? Wireless charging sucks, always has. NFC would be nice. Uhh.... hmmm... Really, what else do we need?

Slow, steady, compatible with the ecosystem and that's about all we can expect from any phone. Will I upgrade? Not likely. Maybe next gen.

iPhone 5 certainly is controversial, under and over rated

apple built quality still sets the benchmark, very solid yet fragile

always had been an icon, yet copied and perhaps surpassed by others

1 infinite loop cupertino needs to issue a larger screen size

the current screen ratio change is a great step in the right direction

I doubt you have used any recent android phone or apps.

As for the thousands of thousands, absolute BS you obviously dont have a clue.

I think most of the disappointment including my own is because the rumors were true this time and almost all of them. It's like going to see the Usual Suspects for the first time knowing who Keyser Soze is. It's still a good movie to watch, but it's not as mind blowing.

This, exactly.

I'll buy this, it's a nice phone. But I'm very disappointed the rumors were all true. Next time I won't read any blogs lol.
