Jesus....this is a deal??? What do you guys do for money? How much time do you spend on the phone??
I'm just fine with my T-mobile prepaid phone...$100 every 6 months or so. iPhone is iHype and iMoney. And of course the 'i' is question in Jobs. And I like Apple and Jobs. But enough is enough! Just give my my xMac, Steve.
Okay we have the iPhone pricing now so the fanboys can stop biting their nails and wondering if they should sell a kidney to pay for it. It is still more expensive than Sprint but it does offer rollover minutes I guess.![]()
My big question is once this BS fanboy hysteria dies down will we be seeing some more rumors about the iPod that is almost 2 years behind schedule for an update, updated iMacs and MacMinis, and upgraded .Mac which is as of now a waste of $100? Can Apple please get back to real business and continue making the things that it is actually good at and making great strides in marketshare?
Maybe you need to get a better job or a few more friends/family to call.
$200 a year on a mobile bill is far from the norm
To describe the collective reaction here to the pricing plans as "they're awesome!" is to read through the posts in this thread wearing rose colored glasses. It's far more accurate to describe the reaction as a collective sigh of relief - relief that Apple/AT&T chose not to charge the way everyone expected. What did everyone expect? The usual Apple premium.
These plans are nothing more than "ok" or perhaps even "pretty good" - but if they were not tied to the iPhone then most people would (justifiably) point out the way better comparable plans from other carriers (e.g. TMo). And yes, including data, nights and weekends, texts, etc.
With these plans, what Apple/AT&T have done is removed a reason *not* to get an iPhone. They haven't created a compelling reason *to* get an iPhone. Not with these plans alone.

anyone notice that the iphone on the "activation and sync" video had a capacity of 74.40 GB up from a mere 7.27 GB seconds beforehand?
hmmm...

i have a question.
i am on family plan with my parents for verizon. so if i want use the same number for the new iphone, i have to cancel my line with my parents family plan? which that will cost a cancellation fee right?
I'll bet he still lives in his mother's basement.
honestly... all this iPhone hype has made me less interested in Apple/MacRumors... i fear that even after it's released there will continue to be LAME posts on this site like "John Dropped His iPhone and it Didn't Break!" or "Mary Uses her iPhone as a Dildo and She is Very Satisfied"...
welcome to MacRumorsTube.com
Just watched the iPhone sync video, anyone else notice that 3/4's of the way through the video, after the iPhone is synced, "John's iPhone" on the bottom storage bar in iTunes has, "Capacity 74.40GB - Audio 25.64GB - Video 13.09GB - Other 12.55GB - Free Space 23.12GB"?!?!?!
It would appear that either the iPhone tutorial has been doctored, or "John's iPhone" is an 80GB iPhone.QUOTE]
THAT'S THE BIG SUPRISE FOR FRIDAY. NOT 4 and 8 GB BUT 40 and 80 GB!
Unlimited data? I like the sound of that. haven't really looked into UK contract prices, but it's something I would have to get with an iPhone and all that internet business.
take the damn iPhone out of the equation for a minute. You're getting ripped off by AT&T, who cares what phone you have. It's not right, and it's extortion.
Then again, you all are so willing to hand over more money than you should for the service you're getting, maybe it's not extortion, but consumer stupidity
I am happy.
I would be using iChat instead of texting anyways. I was expecting the lowest plan to be $79.99
