I reallky want to know if the multitouch software will also be available for the current MacBook Pros (and MacBooks I suppose!)

The Macbook Air seems pretty pointless without the SSD drive, too... 4200rpm HDD?

3098 thats a macpro and a lcd monitor now a days.

Who is willing to shell? 3098 for a 1.8ghz, 1 usb system?

does that even make sense?

No optical drive -1 usb, you have to buy the superdrive for 99.99 on top of the price....WOW

LOL

13" is not ultraportable... I don't care what anyone says.

Yep.

This is the sad but honest truth. Frankly I'd say this is almost LESS portable than the current macbook, because I'd imagine the fact that it is so rediculously thin means that it's easier to bend/break.

Eee laptop is ultra portable, this is the same size for all practical purposes as the current macbook.

Come on, folks. Repeat after me: Apple hardware is not more expensive than matched PC hardware!

the fact that the units battery is internal will become a huge issue for the ultra protable user not to mention a mess to replace

all we got is an overpirce notebook

Here we go.

I said, weeks ago, that a tiny notebook from Apple would cost more than the Macbook and be less powerful. Seems obvious, but I guess it's not.

The 'Air' is perfect for those who need it. (Which I suspect is a lot of people.) Anyone who says it's "made wrong" or "overpriced" was expecting a different product. I'm sorry you were misled by rumor sites, but that's not Apple's fault.

I do not want to be a downer, but frankly there is nothing impressive about the MBA at all. Sony et al have done it already. And better. The price is OK, I suppose, considering what some of these go for, but an 11" screen would have been better.

she's so sexy

What a turd frankly... how about stop making crappy gadgets for people who think computers are a form of clothing and not a tool...

i don't know anyone who would pay $3098 for a Macbook that didn't have Pro next to it.

1280X800

for 1800

hahaha

Then don't buy it! Jeez... You can't get 1920 AND a miniature form factor.

In fact, seriously, if you join this forum and this thread just to point out a missing feature, please try to understand that the thing is .75 thick, and is made for those to whom SIZE and not HORSEPOWER is the key.

If you need other stuff, check out the MB or MBP - each have strengths.
