So it's just Apple Silicon now. Will we get a smaller macOS installer?

That wallpaper is extremely underwhelming. Could’ve been a great real shot of the bridge or something but no . We get this ugliness .
Apple can't win for losing. They made a LOT of changes that everyone was complaining about. What is the new complaint? Wallpaper. Something most people will change anyways is the new target of your angst? I guess they nailed this update if THAT'S all you've got to complain about.

Exactly, shouldn't the last OS for them be a polished experience?

Seriously, no need for a new OS every damn year. If Apple slowed down and took a few years between releases we could have an excellent user experience.
I would gladly go back to paying $20-$30 or whatever Snow Leopard was back when they shipped biannually. 🙂

Eh, even when Apple was on multi-year release cycles they regularly released hot garbage (OS X Lion for example)

Glad to see Apple listened to the resounding complaints with Tahoe. Sounds like this addresses many of the issues I had which caused me to uninstalled after 2 days to return to Sequoia. Looking forward to the beta releases to see how well they implement the fixes.

So Apple essentially went back to the Big Sur - Sequoia interface with a few Liquid Glass flourishes added in (and the refractions toned down).

I haven't found any screenshots of the full Apple Music for Mac window but it doesn't look like they returned the playback controls to the toolbar that they've been touting for other apps. Will be a bit disappointed if the control pill at the bottom of the window is still a thing.
