Apple Announces New Aluminum MacBooks

I am disgusted that they have dropped firewire, what stupid idiots. I've just sent feedback saying as much.

So the next notebook I buy will have to be a MBP, I don't need a MBP, I like the form factor of the MB, cheeky buggers, I'll now be forced to pat nearly twice as much so I can use a component which costs a few dollars :mad:
 
I think it's amazing. Now I'm leaning towards the high-end MacBook as I'm not really sure I need the extra graphics card. Any advises on that? Is the 9400m better than my old ATIx1600 (please tell me so)?
 
Just ordered the basic white MacBook refurb for my wife. (Now $899)
Earned $50 by waiting four weeks, and saved $500 by realizing the new MacBook may just not be worth $1400(CDN) frickin dollars!
 
Low end for $999....

The old Macbook still has firewire right. Well all you audio/video buffs with thousands of dollars wrapped up in that equipment, you now have your solution.....

Okay really, the crying has to stop. I'm joking...some.

But I'm in. I just have to figure it out I guess. Which one.... what to do, what to do.
 
The price is not right.

Is it news to Apple that the global economy is in nuclear meltdown mode?

The consumer of yesteryear buying stuff like Apple products hand over fist with credit cards maxed out up tot heir eyeballs is history.

There's not enough fanboys in the world to keep up with their tremendous groth at the these price point. I mean 1000 bucks for 3 years ago's Macbook? Are you kidding me?

Watch them drop the price of these computers by $300 come January after the disastrous Christmas season just like they did with the original iPhone--it was simply too expensive, and so is their computer lineup.
 
Am i going insane, or have they increased the price of the white macbook in the UK!
 
Lame

$1300 and no firewire????? LAME!!!! How are you supposed to do target disk mode? That is one of the most useful features of a Mac. There are lower priced laptops from other companies that include firewire. LAME APPLE, LAME!!!!

yep, i agree.

just ordered the 4gb ram Pro. cant wait to get it.

i have used the new imacs all summer and i dont see a problem with glossy screens at all... then again i dont use it outside so what do i know.

either way, i know i will love it!

Huge disappointment.

Apple has always neglected the low end. In a decent economy they could get away with it, but with the current situation, having nothing under $999 (and that one is still last year's leftovers) is incredibly dumb.

Companies that appeal to clientele who don't quibble about a few hundred dollars.

Apple may not be a truly "luxury" brand, but they are not a "price-conscious" brand either. If you can't or won't pay the price, there are more then enough people who will to meet Apple's increasing market sales goals.

Contrary to the wishes of many, Apple's goal is to not outsell Microsoft.

abit odd the previous entry level MB has gone up £20

I'm lusting after one the new MBs, I think I'll wait for the new iMacs though
