What issues? 🤔 Air 4 had some light leakage, but Air 5 seemed a pretty solid release.
Google iPad Air 5 build quality and see how much coverage it got when it launched across various news sites. Honestly owning one myself it was disappointing.

iPad Air is $549. Cheapest I can find the iPad Pro on sale is $729. Edit to add, even the refurbished iPad Pro is $619.

Thoughts?
Does the placement of the FaceTime camera matter to you? The new Airs and Pros have it in landscape position.

Not going to update to this iPad Air model. I’m content with my M1, but for those of you who didn’t want the 4 or 5, this could be for you. Especially with 128GB of storage as the base.

I was still impressed by it, but my M1 will work well for me. Going strong for over two years and it’s my favorite iPad ever. Again, if you have the iPad Air 4 or something further back (or an older different model), this might be your time to hop in.
Upgrading from an iPad mini 2 😅

Ridiculous isn’t it. Product from 2021, even had the balls to mention it at the end of the event as if it fits into the lineup.
iPad mini 5 took 3.5 years, it’s par for the course for iPad minis. I would be more concerned that the 7 will only be a SoC bump.

I want to upgrade from the first gen 11 inch iPad Pro. The new Air looks like a good and affordable replacement. Now the question is, are 500 nits enough, and will I miss "Pro Motion"? I'll have to check it out in the store I think.

The new Pro models are definitely too expensive now though, since I only use the iPad for surfing the web, reading and occasionally watching videos.

I can’t seem to find the display refresh rate of the new Air. Any ideas?

So:
  • M2 13" iPad Air (128GB) + Magic Keyboard = $800 + $350 = $1,150, add pencil $129
  • M2 13" iPad Air (256GB) + Magic Keyboard = $900 + $350 = $1,250, add pencil $129
  • M2 13" MBA (256GB) = $1,000
  • M3 13" MBA (256GB) = $1,100
It will be interesting to see what people buy for school, home, and office.

Now I'm in a quandary. I have a 2018 (3rd gen) 12.9in iPad Pro. I know I don't want to pony up the bucks for a new 13" Pro, but is the 13" M2 iPad Air much of an upgrade? From what I've read so far, I don't see anything making it worth the upgrade, except it will run iPadOS a few years more than my Pro.

13" Air was the only interesting thing they announced today. Once those get some sale discounts applied I'll sell my M2 11" Pro and get the 13" Air.

What were your personal issues with it?

I might be the odd one here. But putting the front camera on one side means I am limited to using one landscape orientation. The camera will be on the bottom of the iPad if I use the other landscape orientation.

I don’t use the Pro for anything really pro but still I think the jump is worth it. What’s your deal?
Ditto. I don't plan on doing anything pro with it, but the 4th generation was a long time ago. I'll view mainly tv shows and movies, but I'm leaning towards the new Pro 11 just for the image quality and lightness of it.

I'll also wait to see how they compare to each other in an Apple store.

13 Air or 11 Pro to upgrade from an Air 4? What do you think people
You have a bunch of Macs, so I assume the iPad will be used for lighter tasks, not heavy pencil use?

If so, I'd go with the Air.

Still, too many questions you have to answer before deciding. These things are not what they were 5 years ago.
