The Intel Mac mini is now gone from the Apple Store:

That's more like it!! Question - what would I need to do in order for 16GB to not be enough? I always have around 5-6 apps open at once, mainly Adobe Creative Cloud. Currently used to 32GB on an i5 iMac which sometimes slows for unknown reasons. Can I expect silky smooth with 16GB or would 32GB be a safer bet?

NB: The text of the article says the new Mac mini has only 2 thunderbolt 4 ports. It doesn't make clear that the M2Pro version does have four.

(Thank God. I could not *believe* it wouldn't, hence going to check!)

That looks quite nice now, quite possibly soothing my lust for the base model Mac Studio. (Which is a shame as I love the Mac Studio.)

No new iMac. Guess the one I just bought is OK after all 😉

For long term use and upgradability purposes, I would suggest sticking to 32 GB as you can't upgrade the RAM after the fact, so if you need it in the future, for whatever reason, you will have to buy a new Mac.

Great news! Too bad Apple is not using the 3nm chips from TSMC though.
Can’t believe this needs to be said over and over and over and over and over again but…
3NM only started going into production two weeks ago. December 30.
5NM took six months to go from beginning production to actually being put inside devices.
Now things are even more constraint.
The first 3NM device will be the iPhone, just like the first 5NM device was an iPhone and the first 7NM device was an iPhone.
