I dunno if this is a glitch but I’m seeing the M1 Mac mini for $549, not the M2

Which would make sense to me, keep M1 as entry level (it’s plenty fast) and M2 as the high end model.
From reading the press release I guess M1 is $549 (clearing out inventory) and M2 is $599

Good bump and better pricing.

Which makes the Studio look a poor buy. Why has that not been updated today?

Unless there is a "Pro" launch coming featuring an updated Studio and Mac Pro?

Mini with M2, 24gb RAM and 512gb SSD costs 1200 euros. Seems like a bargain when comparing to other Macs
Where? I tried to choose a Mac mini on Apple.de and the mentioned config is already 1400 EUR.

A m2 pro maxed out processor, max memory capacity and a terabyte storage system is 2300 dollars! For a mini. Maxed out system is 4500 dollars.High performance really does come at a price.

Is the 10 Gigabit recommended or not? I don't know what I have on my PC, it says this on network properties though - 1000/1000 (Mbps)

I was looking forward to this annoucement and replacing my Intel Mini but the pricing doesn't make sense on the higher specs.

It's great for the Base M2, but the Pro quickly gets into Studio pricing.

I guess I'll just wait for the Studio refresh...

Trying to order the base M2 Pro Mini with my Apple Card balance, and it keeps saying declined, APPLE I HAVE $1300 I want to spend ;-) Take my money!!! Apparently using the balance on your card is a known error. UGH!

Finally! I've been holding out for the M2 Mini. My Apple Studio Display sitting on my desk now has something to connect to (other than a MacBook). I opted for the same specs as my M2 Air which is plenty fast for what I need (M2/24GB/1TB). My Air has 2TB as that is the main media Mac, I don't really need 1TB for my 'desk Mac', but can't seem to get myself to order a Mac with less than 1TB. You can never have too much storage. :D

Very useful for plugging in flash drives, which to this day, are still stuck on the USB-A standard, for some reason. Sure, you can find USB-C flash drives, but for whatever reason, 99.9% of flash drives are still using the USB-A standard, hence why you need it in a Mac Mini.
Some USB-A flash drives and USB-A wireless mouse dongles etc. partly build the electronics into the shaft of the plug so they can be very low profile. USB-C versions tend to be bulkier...

That said, I think its more of an issue for laptops where you don't want to carry around USB-C-to-A dongles or have them stick out from the machine. On the desktop, not such a biggie - my Studio has a couple of USB-C-to-A converters plugged semi-permanently into the front USB-C sockets.

I have been a mini fan since the original release in 2004. But at these prices I would go to a studio.
Dont get me wrong...the mini is still the best with the M2 in it
But as you cross that line and go M2 Pro...you have to take the studio into account..
Apple since M2 Mba seems to like this now...the confusion, they did the same exact thing with the M2 Mba where if you want 16gb Ram and 512SSD you are better with the 14" Mbp

That was my thoughts as well. The base M2 is incredible value but once you start to spec the M2 Pro with 32 GB, you're inching closer to the Base Mac Studio. Users who don't need too much extra RAM or storage should benefit nicely though from this pricing.

Oh... I'm on the fence buying one to replace my iMac. But I want 32 GB RAM.. so you need to buy the most expensive Mac Mini just to get 32 GB RAM. I have 16 GB RAM today and it is not enough.

Edit: I ordered one with 24 GB RAM!
